Hey guys,
what's the status of the Scavenger hunt implementation on GOG? The game releases in two days and it's been confirmed by Obsidian that they're working on a solution for GOG players as well.

For those who don't know what I'm talking about:
https://eternity.obsidian.net/scavenger/
Hunt codes, enter them on the portal and progress through the treasure map, unlocking various items.
Even more info:
https://www.reddit.com/r/projecteternity/comments/7zzrvp/the_deadfire_codes/

Would be super nice if someone from GOG could hop in and share (hopefully good) news. Thanks!

When did they confirm that?

Santiago: When did they confirm that?
It's mentioned, then confirmed by the employee who was mentioned, in the reddit link above - search for obsidianeric (around the 3rd or 4th occurrence of their name) in the replies. They said they were trying (but it wasn't guarenteed).

Ah thanks, that sounds more like it. I have my doubts that anything is going to happen.

It's odd to me quite frankly, how poorly GOG is supported (in comparison). Maybe there is something I don't understand, but you'd think a dev would be happy they can sell their stuff in more than just one single store.

Exactly, it's a bit weird and adding a few items doesn't seem to be such a complicated task - especially when it works with all the other games, PoE 1 including. Honestly, it's quite a bit of a f*** you towards GOG too, since everyone who would be considering whether to use GOG or Steam would chose Steam, since it's only there where you have a certainty of aquiring said items.

They also mentioned it during their last (I believe) stream on Twitch, which is newer info than the Reddit post, and it seemed like it's about to be implemented. I'll link it here when I find it.

Here it is:

Well, I guess it was more general than I remembered.

Glad someone raised this. GOG obviously seems to get left out a lot - from the Total War franchise for instance. For this and other reasons i use it as much as possible (it has a better 'returns' policy).

QUESTION:
Can we just sit and wait for the Scavenger hunt to come to GOG? I have so much on (Viking: expeditions, for instance) that i can afford to wait for PoE 2 .

I fear that that is the permanent state I live in now, too many games, too little time :( Pillars come first though, at least for me. I even took a few days off work to play :D

Aaand here's the latest news:

TLDR: They are working on it, but most probably it won't be available tomorrow.
Thanks very much for your reply Edrahil.

Yes, that's good enough for me (and i followed the link). Was going to get it via GOG anyway.... :).

I've just spent an hour of precious work time (work for myself so there are no other issues than using time) clearing out a tomb and gettng waylaid by an angry Godi and villagers so it's back to work.

Looking forward to PoE loads, but Expeditions Viking is probably the best video/computer game ever for me.

Thanks again

Andrew

No, nothing new yet. However, there is a solution for GOG users provided by Deus_Ex who uploaded the .gamedata of the scavenger hunt items so everyone could enjoy them.

Thanks! That actually helps. It's quite sad and embarrasing that nothing is being done officlally from either Obsidian or GOG :(
very much appreciated Edrahil cheers :)
Bumping the thread to see if GOG or Obsidian can give us any more information about an official solution. Would love to see these bonus items included officially.
