Just got the new patch to download (finally) in PoE2 - the big 1.1 patch.

However, the news window (i.e - the advert window), automatically pops up and covers up the main interface. You have to click the tab to shrink it. I've blocked PoE 2 in my firewall so that the news cannot update (I don't want it to, I keep up to date myself, thank you).

There used to be an option to disable the news (advert) window but they removed it with this patch because they *really* want to show you news (ads).

Seems this is also causing consternation over at Obsidian's forums.

Bad form, Obsidian. Removing options and forcing the screen to maximise and even block their own UI. Still, gotta show those ads!

Couldn't recreate your issue where the news window would interfere with the main menu, also tested on a resolution of 2560x1600 - I had to resize the image to upload it, so you'd have to trust me that I took it at the resolution you provided.

Are you by chance refering to the news window that pops up before you get to the main menu? 'cause that one showed up only once for me after applying the patch and never since. (Possible reason for it vanishing could be that it showed there was free DLC available where I had that DLC already installed.)

This is my screenshot. You probably allow yours to have internet access. Also, I do have the Rum Runners pack already installed. Seems lots of people over at Obsidian forums have this problem though.

I cut my internet connection this time. Didn't change a thing tho. Tried a few things like messing with the settings in the registry but nothing. No idea how to reproduce it.
