Follow these simple steps if the patch does not work for you.

1. Delete game.
2. install game, no need to re download, unless you deleted the game files.
3. Install patch.
3. install pre order bonus items if you have them

Enjoy.

if the GoG staff can also upload the hotfix, it would be awesome. No hurries tho. ;)
How does one go about re-installing the game after deleting it ... without downloading the game again?

Just delete the game itself ( Trash the game Icon ) do not delete all the files you downloaded.

Still don't follow. I trash the game icon then .... run the 8gb installer from GOG that I need to re-download because I deleted that after I installed the game over a week ago?

What I have right now is a 14.39 GB folder in Applications called Pillars of Eternity and the broken patch sitting in my Downloads.

Well yea if you deleted it then you need to download it.
Yeah ... I – and I would assume most people – do this "weird" thing where I delete the ~7GB installer file after installing a program, because the game/program has been installed.

Of course I've been operating under the assumption that GOG was a somewhat capable company.

Might have to revisit my assumptions.

I agree. The game gets unpatchable if DLCs are in play? What the hell?
After following these steps - deleting the game, reinstalling the game, and appying the two patches - I cannot launch the updated version. I get an error saying the application is damaged and should be moved to the trash.
