My party is currently in a battle against certain enemies that have an ability to teleport right next to the party. As a result, they end up next to the party before my priest ends up casting spells such as Suppress Affliction and Prayer Against Treachery on my party. After my priest casts those spells I notice that those enemies are now affected by those spells (which obviously hampers my efforts in battle). Since the battle has basically just begun at the time of casting, nobody is affected by anything like charmed or dominated statuses (however the enemies are immune to charmed/dominate if that's important).

Is this intentional behavior? Is it a known bug? If so is there a workaround? I had noticed it in earlier battles and sort of glossed over it but at this point in the game it is proving to be a substantial hurdle to overcome. I have put many hours into the game thus far and I love the world and the story very much. I would be very sad if this ends up breaking the game for me.

Thank you for reading.

I don't remember having those issues, but are you sure the logs of the battle state they get the benefits?
P.s. Also, which game?

I am playing POE 1. I am certain the enemy is affected by the spell. I've attached cropped screenshots of the battle log and the enemy card.

Odd, I remember some spells from PoE 1 giving good stats to you and bad to enemies. But, that one on your screenshot only affects your character, and yet, as your logs shows, it is also affecting an enemy.

However, the ... good news? The Vitrhack brutes are already immune to Charmed and Dominated. So, they are not getting benefits from your spell. But not sure if this explain the behavior or what.

The problem happens when I have to cast Suppress Affliction after a Vithrack Luminary casts Soul Ignition on one of my characters and the VIthrack Brutes are suddenly free of any hostile AOE effects I've previously cast on them. It's terribly frustrating.

By the wait, it may be worth to ask directly on obsidian forums https://forums.obsidian.net/forum/87-pillars-of-eternity/

P.s. Something tell me is time to play the game again to inspect that behavior myself

I already considered that before I posted here. That forum appears to be less active than this one. It looks like I'm not going to find help about this from anywhere and will just have to figure out a way to work around it.

It is true that most of the Obsidian forum's member focus more on the second game and most recent games, but I normally got a answer on my posts from the first game.

Still, good luck :)
