I'm at the point in the game where I really need to pick a faction. I have narrowed it down to the Dozens and the Crucible Knights.

Right now I'm leaning toward the Crucible Knights as I'm trying to playing a good character. The only thing I don't like about the Crucible Knights is their support of animancy. My main concern with the Dozens is that I ultimately see them assassinating the head of the Defiance Bay which doesn't sit well with me.

Thoughts?

Look at it this way:

Crucible Knights == wannabe *real* knights == Neutral Good
The Dozens == an angry mob == Chaotic Neutral

And, of course, you have House Doemenel == crime syndicate == Lawful Evil

Thank you for quick response Hickory. That sums it up quite well. I'll go with the Crucible Knights.
I'd rather join an adventuring company and mercenary guild than an order of knights, but unfortunately the Dozens have political aspirations that seem to amount to mob justice.

So overall I'd rather *join* the Crucible Knights.

But I feel like I should represent the Dozens at the trial to keep them from doing anything stupid. And perhaps to stifle their opposition to animancy... which of course might anger them once they find out...

Decisions, decisions. ;)

yes! some of the choices in the game are interesting in that they are usually grey. especially for side quests. I enjoy the unique options and dialogue for some of them depending on who you have in your party.

but the real question about party membership is which pet to follow you around. decisions indeed!!!

Having finished the game and considering the endings for these groups it is more like...

Crucible Knights: LN/LE
The Dozens: CN/CE
House Doemenel: TN/NE

There are no good guys here. An depending on your dialogue choices there might not be any neutrals either.

Yeah, the animancy infused "Forge Armor" never sat right with me, since they're basically infusing souls into the armor to make it a tireless sentry. I've not finished the game or the mission yet, but I feel right now that I don't want to help any of them as a traditional paladin. My fighter on the other hand will probably join the knights.

I was wondering when this would come. Perspective is a wonderful thing... or not.

Well to be fair, NG people don't go around buying souls in the black market, and you learn about that right after finishing the first mission with them and before joining them permanently. The ending was just icing the cake.

As I said, perspective is... never mind!
