I've talked to everyone, read all the emails, shown the postcard, had the girl come onto me in the network room, typed RATBOY, I've seen every cut scene according to the Let's Play, but I cannot get to the restuaraunt with the girl. In the walkthroughs and Let's Play's it shows him accessing the file and then he's says he's done for the day, all I get is the same cutscene of him typing over and over again. Anyone else have this bug or am I missing something?

Hey
I think your best bet is to check the walkthrough again, just to see if you missed something. You can do a lot of things simultaneously during the first day and you won't be able to tell if anything is missing until the end of it (because it won't end :p).

This game seems to require you to do random things in order to access.

Some other things you might need to try: go home and check again on the rat and mirror. Show ID to people, show photos to people, call yourself from your phone, go to the Dreaming Tree alone and click on the waiter and menu items, drink from the water cooler.

Basically, whenever you're stuck, do everything you've already done again in case a new cutscene is available after doing something unrelated.

Thanks guys! I tried everything and eventually started over, did everything in exactly the same order I did the first time and it let me progress. Weird bug, happened once or twice later but not as bad. Actually finished the game a few days ago. Kickass stuff!

That is not a bug. You must have forgotten something the first time you treid.

Just adding this for future seekers, as I was stuck on day 1 a long time as well...
Remember to examine your wallet, take out your ID, check out the glass door to the restricted area, try your ID on the reader there, and show your ID to Trevor.
