Is the version of Phantasmagoria 2 that GOG sells the uncensored version of the game? Info from wikipedia:
Themes and censorship

Though Phantasmagoria was controversial for its use of graphic violence and a rape scene, in A Puzzle of Flesh sex was considerably more explicit: as sexuality plays a major part in the game's plot, which includes four sex scenes featuring bare breasts, bondage, sadomasochism, public sex and offscreen oral sex. Various death scenes include graphic images of gore, including disembowelment and exsanguination, and A Puzzle of Flesh was also rated harshly for strong language, including two uses of the word "fuck", which in 1996 was a rare occurrence in video games.

One notable aspect of the sexual aspect of the game was the bisexuality of Curtis Craig, making A Puzzle of Flesh one of the few computer games to feature a playable character with such a sexual orientation. One of the characters in the game, Curtis' best friend Trevor, is openly gay, and it is later revealed Curtis harbors feelings for him (All sexual scenes are however reserved for male-female encounters only). Several reviews have praised A Puzzle of Flesh's treatment of a homosexual character (and his relationship with heterosexual characters), portraying him in an earnest and natural way, while most video games at the time still depicted gay characters as over-the-top stereotypes.[7] (see: LGBT characters in video games)

Due to its amount of sex and violence, A Puzzle of Flesh was heavily censored in UK and banned in Singapore and Australia, although a re-cut version was eventually made available in the latter.[8] In the United States, the game was given an RSAC Rating Level 4 (of 4) for its sexual content and a Level 3 for its violence and language.[9]

I don't have any alternative version to compare it to, but the GoG version has some cheesy SCinemax type sex scenes with a some nudity.
The GOG release of the game is uncensored!
I owned several versions of it and know them quite well.
The soft core stuff as well as the bloody scenes - all there!
The only thing missing are two or three short lines of monolog when you interact with still pictures. And in these cases the spoken lines are written in subtitles.
So you're missing nothing!

So there is no way to play the censored version in case I want to let my brother watch? That decision could be made on the CD-ROM back in the days. That opportunity doesn't exist here?
That is one really annoying thing about a lot of GOG releases of old games. I appreciate their efforts but there is often one thing or another missing from old games in their catalogue. It is particularly annoying when it is things like providing the censored version of a game, or the one missing game content or soundtrack.

I think GOG could do better by also providing original game images and if they can help it, carry all versions of a game and let us choose like in the old days.

Oh and box art! We need high quality box art. They can certainly afford to buy the rare mint old games on Ebay or elsewhere for it, if not reach source art via their connections.
I don't think I ever played P2 censored, but in P1 there was some bad image-censoring, like the ones you see on TV where they dot out the face of a prisoner or someone that they can't fully show the identity of.

So in any case I don't think you should play the game with your brother watching unless he's at least fifteen years of age.
Even though the game was released for 18+ back in the days, todays youth basically watches way worse on the internet, so a fifteen year old wouldn't take much harm from the game unless he's really squeamish.
I remember that the only uncut original release was the german one
"Phantasmagoria- Labor des Grauens" ;)
The censorship of versions on GOG issue is alive and well, with the international release of Witcher 2 taunting me as not being a part of my collection as long as I'm geoloc'd in Australia.

More on topic, I played the AU release of Phantasmagoria 2, and having found videos of the US release, the difference in a number of the scenes is rather boggling. For an idea, Phantasmagoria 1 (which is banned in Australia, but I originally found for sale in a second hand game store over here) has more nudity than the AU P2, and what P1 had was pretty non-explicit.
