I've discovered the staff had changed the forum name from "Patrician 3" to "Patrician". Why could this be?
Hmmm, this might be a long shot, but... Maybe we're getting the original Patrician??? (I don't think it'd be Patrician 2, as it's almost identical to 3.)

Technically speaking there is no such thing as Patrician III as the it's just patrician II+expansion in other words Patrician II Gold edition. Expansion was originally released separately in germany (Patrizier 2: Aufschwung der Hanse) but for international release Ascaron decided to bumble it together with Patrician 2 and call it patrician 3 probably hoping to boost sales.

Yes, I knew about that. Also, the "real" Patrician 3 is currently in the works (under the guidance of Kalypso, if I'm not mistaken).
So, that's why I suspect that IF we get a new Patrician game, it'll be 1 and not 2.
EDIT: Aaaand I was (partially) right! The new game is Patrician 1+2!

Yes I knew about P3 in development. There have been speculation that it will be released summer next year but I somehow doubt it (unless they rush it which would be bad) as not much beside press release about started development has been released so far. Hopefully it'll turn up being at least as good as it predecessors.

I also hope it will be a good game; and especially that Kalypso won't make some "casual-esque" game out of it (as they did with Imperium Romanum and Glory of The Roman Empire). This genre needs a decent new game... Too bad East India Company turned out to be so dull.
