Hello.
I must say that I really like this game. It´s fun, thrilling and entertaining. But unfortunately some technical problems don´t let me fully enjoy this masterpiece. So I´m looking for some help or advice on this forum.
1. Freezing
When I play the game It runs smoothly but in most cases It´s generating very large lag spikes. My
notebook has fulfilled minimum hardware requirements and even overcame them in some aspects.
2. Crashes
Crashes usually comes after the game freezes and music starts to lag. In this situation the game is running below 1
FPS which is really bad. No interaction with the game is possible in that moment.
3. Low performance
As I said the game is usually running smooth (yet with some FPS drops) but when playing suddenly the FPS drops
significantly. Generally It happens when travelling between locations.
And that´s all. I believe that developer team of Pathway will fix these bugs and I wish them luck in working on this game.
My Notebook
AMD FX-7500 (2.1 to 3.3 GHz)
AMD Radeon R7 M260 (2GB)
8GB Ram DDR3
Windows 10
Thank you for any answers.

Hi! These tips are very generic, but they might help.

* Check if your video drivers are up to date.
* Check if you have enough free space on your HDD for memory swapping purposes (my personal rule of thumb is keeping at least 10-15% of the Windows/pagefile partition free at all times).
* Disable Reverb in Pathway's audio options (source: here).
* Play the game in a window and keep Task Manager open to see if any other system processes are clogging everything else down.

Lastly, look for crash logs and send them over to Robotality. They are located in the same folder where you have installed the game (i.e. where the game's main EXE is) and they have a name like crash-<data-and-timestamp>.log.

You can write to them directly at hello@robotality.com.

Thanks for help. I will try all of your recomendations and post result here.
Hi. I've done everything you advised me:
• I have updated my graphics card to the newest version.
• I have enough space on HDD (about 340GB)
• I have disabled "Reverb" option in Sound menu
• I have played in Windowed mode with opened Task Manager, here is what's happened:
After a shootout with Nazis, the game froze. Task Manager showed this: CPU - 99%; RAM - 80%; HDD - about 10%;
GPU - 0 to 4%. In this moment the game mostly crashes, but this time I closed it manually because it didn't get better.

I wrote an e-mail to Robotality and I'm looking forward to their answer.
It is "normal" that during hangs the CPU shoots at 99-100% -- that's what the hang actually is: the CPU is stuck at calculating something. From what you've told me, it doesn't look like you're running out of HDD or RAM space... so those shouldn't be issues.

I hope that the devs will be successful in helping you. Please keep us updated!
By the way, I've just noticed that version 1.0.8 has arrived on Galaxy and it apparently works out some reasons for crashes after combat sequences. Check that out and try again!

Yes, I know. Unfortunately the 1.0.8 patch doesn't work for me. I wrote an email to Robotality with Crash log an DxDiag output. They have said me that they are working on a new patch. They will upload a beta version of that patch on Steam and perhaps on GOG (If it will be possible). 'It is a major rework we need to test first,' said Robotality employee Simon Bachmann.

I hope it will work.

I wonder what the issue might be. They for sure have more than just a "suspect", but the "cure" they have in mind likely consists of a rework of a critical function/class in their code that is used throughout the project and therefore needs to be well-tested (like they said) before release.

In the meantime I suggest you to talk to GOG support, in case you want to ask for a refund since the game isn't working on your system.
The Robotality team is really trying to fix this bug. I appreciate that. There are not so many game studios today that take into account the feedback of one single person. I have not experienced such an open and kind approach so far. They have my admiration!

Anyway, I await the result of this patch. As you said, the problem is deeper and complicated than I expected. In the worst case, I would have to use GOG Money refund, which is a pity for such a nice game.

Also, thank you for joining this discussion, tudhalyas.
You are welcome. I am just trying to help how I can. ^_^ They also have activated a beta channel for "faster" bug-fixing updates, you can read about it here.

Robotality is a tiny team compared to others, but I've seen them very active and responsive also on Steam, which is very admirable as you said. I wish more developers ("indie" or not) were the same as well.

so apparently more users have cpu problems? i read 99% , mine is always 80 to 99% and the poor cpu is in 3.2 ghz ( boost) all the time, i also read someone has a 3 ghz or more so the game also doesnt work on a 3 ghz or more?
I wonder why the dev did not reply to me?they can reply in the steam or gog community if they are to lazy or to occupied, thats not my problem i wont send emails to any website , my mail is only for joining sites and creating accounts, the more you use an email the more spam you get, the mails show up in links, social media. and nowadays every media is leaking data, the news is full off it, thats why i have a few mail accounts, one for GOG and Steam , others are for free online games accounts to play like online flashgames.

Anyway i never send dx dialog logs or other large text logs.... those logs contain a lot of information that is unneeded to solve the problem, all they need is what your cpu and drivers, gpu and drivers you have
windows is easy: either win7 32/64 bits or win 8 or win 10, no need to see what ethernet you have what your network login name is....

Unity games spy like crazy .... better block all exe in firewall.

Steam has many "developers" that never or seldom reply... Bigfishgames is a big example, the best part is we can hide games they will be darkened so they are hard to see in the results, if they could also add a way to block developers that would be great. I hid over 500 games because they are crap and a few hundred because the developer/publisher are /is crap.

Anyway hiding games we dont like or want to see in the search results is a nice feature to have, would be a nice feature to have here, this way we can easily see which games we like and which to avoid.

It is interesting. I didn't know anyone else had problems with the CPU while playing Pathway. Anyway, Robotality has released a beta version of the new patch so I'll try it.
Regarding feedback, I had no problem communicating with developers. Try to create a new e-mail and write to: hello@robotality.com, where they can help you. I have already done this and see that they are really trying to fix this bug.
nice to see some 'updates'

however, they are of NO use to me : (。◕‿◕。)

The dev is only talking about the game bugging, features, gun issues in the game and more like that

this is the only very tiny part in which he mentions performance problems ( i underlined the text)

Added "--aggressive-gc" command line option. Using this option forces a memory garbage-collection after each event. When used, you'll likely experience a short delay each time the event window closes. While this parameter doesn't fix anything per se, it is supposed to help us narrowing down the out-of-memory crashes and performance issues.
* Disabled use of separate render thread on MacOS. May be related to performance issues some user reported on MacOS 10.14 Mojave.
That is no way to properly adress cpu/performance problems

*sighs* (✖╭╮✖)
It 's like using a bandaid to fix a broken wire because scotchtape isnt available : check: tapepatch.png

He also talks about his new discord server :

The first preview build is now available on our "preview" branch and we're moving to our own Discord Server!

New Discord Server

So far our Discord community has lived under the umbrella of the Chucklefish Discord server. This has been fantastic for us, but as the community has grown we feel like it's time to start our own. This will allow us to really separate out discussions more effectively and keep track of everything. So please come join the party here on our brand new Discord server:

Robotality Discord Server Invite

We won't close down the existing channel on the Chucklefish server, but the new server will become the central community point on Discord.
Its mainly about himself and the team and the discord and some ingame bugs, people who have performance issues get little to no reply , ...

Ahwell, its only a few that had/have cpu/performance options which are NOT solved...

Anyway NOT going to join ANY discord or whatever ..... i had already hidden the game on my shelves, so i consider it as a another miss, a game that looked promising but dev doesnt seem to be aware of a few CPU /performance problems, mayb that's the reasom why it doesnt get any priority cause there are only a few....

Greetings everyone,
Looks like the problem has been resolved. After the release of the 1.0.9-PREVIEW patch the crash after the shootout is no longer a problem, although not everything is over. I'm very happy that it works. However, there was another freeze at the end of the chapter (Wrath of the God). In this situation, I had to quit the game. Fortunately, this is a small problem that has not happened after the game is restarted. I dont mind too much, but I hope this bug will be solved too.

Finally I can play Pathway,
Thanks for help :)
