I recently tried to get back into Pathfinder, but for whatever reason when I start up the game it gets stuck at the loading screen and wouldn't progress. Its not like the game crashed since I still get music. I left it on my desktop for over an hour and bar hasn't moved at all.

So I looked up ways to fix the problem, but none of them have worked. So far I've done:
1.Verify/Repair files
2. Deleting the Pathfinder Folder on AppData
3. Deleting the game from the Regedit
4. Changing the Fullscreen Mode to Borderless Window
5. Unplugging all of my USB devices
6. Deleting and redownloading the game.

what windows are you using 10 or 11, what version of Pathfinder are you using the latest?
this could be a saved game problem if it wont load.

different user, same problem. I have attempted the same steps as the OP did, with no success. Also deleted my saves, without effect.
This is where the loading screen always stops.

It's always there, with and without mods, and I never had any issue like this 3 weeks ago when I last played.
The process itself is not frozen, as music still plays, the custom cursor is still moving about, I can alt tab back and forth freely and it immediately closes on alt f4, without any hang up. Reverting to 1.1.7f.48 solved the problem.

You might want to update your game to the latest version.

current game version is 1.2.1h

Downgrading to 1.1.7f.48 solved the problem. As in: Every version after that, including 1.2.1h has this problem for me.

I also have the same issue with the same stopping point. I am on version 1.2.2a.568

Just saw the 1.3.0k release, and updated it.

No appreciable difference either, sadly.

I'll make a complete uninstall and try to scour for anything else that might cause a hangup. Should I look for anything in particular?

I will say this just to say win11 is not good with pathfinder as i found out so i reinstalled win10 and all my problems with win11 crashing to desktop went away. the game runs just fine now in win10.

if your using win11 it might be your problem.

I imagine so, although I can't describe my problem as a crash. It's not even a freeze. It's just sitting there waiting for the response from an async event that probably didn't even trigger.


All THAT said, however, 1.3 is working fine! I did a complete uninstall and sweeped my registries for any related clutter, then installed again, and it's working.
