Hello GOG!

This is my Draconic Archer build for WotR, in principle it's similar to the Kingmaker build. Although I might change some of the mythic feats here and there II would love to fit in elemental barrage for example) I think, it's more or less a fleshed out enough build to post. I've also have a video on youtube where I go a bit more into detail about it.

The main idea is the same though: 16 base attack bonus for 4 iterative attacks, and level 8 spells. This allows us to get empowered hellfire rays, and with greater abundant casting that's a lot of damage, we can also fire off swift hellfire rays with sorcerers reflex. Zippy magic is great for this build, the only thing I haven't tested yet is if it stacks with cleaving shot, in this build, I've assumed they do, because I see no reason why not, mechanically or rule wise. There's definitely room for improvement though and I've noted where I'm unsure of certain feats. All in all though, a fun character and bit of a different take on the standard archer, this thing demolishes single targets.

Seems well made. I wish I could help you getting more views here with more people to start a proper discussion. But the participation with GOG forums with the community is rather... humble... unless you want to count in people who have more joy and spent time in raging about bugs and allegedly failures of the developer/GOG staff instead of playing.

Therefore I recommend you share it on Steam and Owlcat forums as well?

Thanks :)
I wanted to post it on steam but it doesn't let me post guides for games I don't own through the platform (I have the GOG version). That's why I figured I'd post it here, I'll go over to the owl cat forums though, thanks for the tip!

Ah, right. Makes sense that Steam has that restriction. But you could still post it on Steam forums. There you can participate with discussions regardless whether you own the game there or not.

That is how I am getting more information than I could ever get from these forums here on GOG. >^.^<
This looks interesting probably something I will try at some point. As a side note I had no idea that the Hammer The Gap feat worked with range weapons. ( I know nothing about pen and paper version so I am just bumbling my way through the game)

Thankfully that approach is not wrong. Probably even more how an adventure is to be experienced in the first place.

But by the end of the day, trying to build the perfect character is part of the fun too!

I have been getting alot of nostalgia playing this game. Because this is exactly how I played the Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale games. No idea about anything dnd related. No idea what initiave meant, what a round was, why a negative armor class was good and a positive bad(that was a head scratcher, had kid me so confused even more so when it was reversed in th next game I played.) Learning how to play and planning out characters and party compositions was half the fun.

I have gotten back in that trying to plan a character out before starting mindframe. Problem is I don't understand enough about the game and feats etc yet. My goal is to avoid respeccing at all costs for a few patches ( to worried about it messing something up) If my chracter is borked oh well, I will know better next time.

I have several character ideas on the back burner for future plathroughs. A stonelord I am not sure on the right starting stat spread for. Arcanist sounds fun but I am not quite sure reading it how it would work. Kinetiscst always sounded cool but I never really understood them in Kingmaker either.

I am having a ton of fun with this game.

I like to encourage people to share their ideas on forums and ask questions. By all means, neither D&D or Pathfinder, which is based on D&D, are easy to understand games. But you can get into it.

And I also have the strong opinion that these kind of games becomes even more enjoyable when you can share your thoughts and ideas.

To get used to the feats etc. I used auto level up at the start and then switched to manual with retraining everyone to adjust them more to my own playstyle.

It can be helpful too, just to try things out. As in: e.g. you are level 12, and you wonder if retraining to X is fun. Make a proper save, retrain and try it out. That can be surprisingly even more satisfying and fun instead of trying to come up with a level 20 character build right from bat. Especially when you consider that most of the time you are not playing on that level.
How is this better than just going pure Eldritch Archer.
I love EA I played one in Kingmaker.

Also what caster level does this one get? Will you get more spells to do SpellStrike with?

Ahem, little late but I'm still alive, in case you were still wondering it gets caster level 16 (casts level 8 spells). I'd change some of the ascendant abilities around though. I didn't realize ranging shots was capped by mythic level so definitely swap that out for ascendant element fire and instead of ascendant element cold, get elemental barrage.
