Hickory: I'm going to ask the same of you. According to both Steam and Owlcat forums there is no 1.0.42. So far all we know is that you said, "I was told..." So, can you show us where/when this ghost patch is?

Discovery103: I decided to investigate this mystery a bit and found out that some pirate version was apparently distributing the hotfix for 1.0.4. as a version 1.0.4.2. It could be that the number 1.0.4.2. comes from there and then there is no wonder that people with legal versions can't find it on any of the official platforms.
Interesting... not sure if this matters in your research or not, but the quoted version to me was 1.04.2, not 1.0.4.2

Do you happen to have a link to where they talk about the pirate version? Thanks!

At what point did I say it was something official. If you read my original post, I said I was told this and so was posting here in hopes of finding out what the status was on it. If you want me to stop deriding those that call me a troll, then perhaps you should do the same to the one that called me one.

There is ample evidence in this thread and elsewhere to imply that there is no such thing as a 1.04.2 patch. If you want to troll GOG on this silliness it is your right. I would prefer that you not waste their time with it, but that's just me.

As for this part- to me it is evidentiary since others have mentioned it existing and those on steam that I've spoken with are no longer having the same issues from the original 1.04 patch. If everyone had the same patch, the bugs would be the same, not different, yes?

I didn't say it was official, though I can see how it could be implied from my postings. But all I was looking for was the fix that others from steam seem to have received that I haven't through GOG relative to the variance of bugs they now have vs. the ones I have.

And back to the question:

in steam they were talking about, when the big patch should appear. One said, it should come tomorrow, another one said, it was postphoned to next week.

So, lets just wait and see. And lets hope, that this ominous "big patch" will solve some issues and do not bring more...

There is no such patch like '1.04.2'

I got my game auto-updated through Galaxy to the latest official version 1.0.4 (the 'final' one that was supposed to override 'broken incomplete' 1.0.4+ ) literally the moment Owlcat pushed the red button to upload their patch files to GOG and Steam repositories, while Steam users had to wait for a long time due to Steam internal acceptance procedure.

The issue has been fixed. The correct Windows version of the hotfix is available starting from 10PM (PT timezone). Special thanks to Valve for supporting us at this late hour.

If this is true (my GOG Galaxy reads 1.04), then why do I still have the original bugs such as the invisible icons on the spellbook whereas the others I've spoke with do not? As well as them having doublestacked spells on level up and incorrect spell levels whereas my version doesn't have those bugs?

This isn't to say I disbelieve you, so much as to ask, why my bugs remained the original ones where others have different bugs now?
