Discovery103: I agree with you. It should be like that. But I watched the version every time it updated. The 1.04+ came before 1.04.

Hickory: Like I said previously, GOG's crazy naming convention strikes again.
Yes. And since Jim_Thorpe says the problems are still not fixed, who knows what comes next. Maybe another patch named 1.04- ? :)

Don't encourage them...
Last message in patch notes on my game says they are still working on fixing windows version.
You cannot go from 1.0.4 to 1.0.4+, only 1.04+ to 1.0.4.
I assume therefore, 1.0.4+ is the bad 1.0.4 version, you get with 1.0.3 to 1.0.4.

Let's wait for 1.0.5 :)
avatar
Discovery103: the naming of the patches on GOG should be 1.04+ for the patch 1.04 that had problems on windows. And the hotfix for that should be named 1.04. So if your version says 1.04 without the + sign at the end, you should have the hotfixed version of the 1.04 patch.
avatar
Hickory: Well that makes no sense at all. The plus sign denotes an addition/amendment. What you're saying is that the amendment comes before the problem. That's crazy. It *should* have been named:

1.04
1.04+

In that order.
Yes. You are right. It is a crazy way to name things. However that is what happened. Since I do not use Galaxy, I can confirm that 1.04+ would only apply to version 1.03. And that 1.04 applied to 1.04+.
avatar
Jim_Thorpe: I'd take your word for it, only none of the problems in the game have been fixed, which leads me to believe that the patch hasn't gone through on Gog.

I submitted a ticket to see what the deal is.
avatar
Discovery103: It definitely could be that something went wrong again. It's just the fact that the version 1.04 here on GOG without the + sign came out after it was announced that the problems with windows version are fixed, so it should be the right hotfixed version, but since you said the problmes are not fixed, it sounds like there could be a problem with it. If you get answer for your ticket, let us know what the situation is.
Will do! As of this writing, I've only received the automated response saying they will respond within 12 to 24 hours, so the wait begins.

I re-verified the game, and such things as invisible spell icons in the spellbook, etc. are still there. I then tried to force a file verification via Gog Galaxy, which resulted in a long wait of 0% of file verification, after which, it went back to reading 1.04 and the original "patch is screwy" message attached to it.

For any and all windows users that are in the same boat, I would encourage you all to submit a ticket as well to hopefully get them on this asap.
I would not, if i were you. Just wait for the big patch. Playing at the moment is rewarded in a way, that you crawl from on bug to another. I don´t know, how long you haved played up to now, but the last patches solved some issues and made new ones. I rather have it, that the new patches do not make new bugs. For this they need time.

Give the devs time to adjust the game a bit.

What kind of crazy logic is that?

I get what you're saying and don't necessarily disagree with you; however, if they miss this latest fix, who's to say they won't miss the next one, which is really a concern for me (and perhaps others). Bringing up the issue now, rather than wait and be silent, could potentially help head that problem off before it could potentially happen.

Perhaps it's a bit paranoid, but I'd rather try something rather than nothing ;)

There is ample evidence in this thread and elsewhere to imply that there is no such thing as a 1.04.2 patch. If you want to troll GOG on this silliness it is your right. I would prefer that you not waste their time with it, but that's just me.

What evidence? The fact that my version doesn't work the same way as others from steam's version in accordance with those I've spoken with in discord? Or the fact that you make assumptions that I'm trolling rather than voicing a concern and wanting to play a game that I can't play because I can't pick spells?

Stop being judgmental with people just because you don't find a conversation relevant to you.

Have a great life, sir.

I'm going to ask the same of you. According to both Steam and Owlcat forums there is no 1.0.42. So far all we know is that you said, "I was told..." So, can you show us where/when this ghost patch is?

And, to be clear, the players on steam in discord say that they don't have the original issues (they have new issues however). i.e. they can see their spells in their spellbooks whereas I can't. I haven't run into any GOG players yet on discord, so I can't make a comparison.

I decided to investigate this mystery a bit and found out that some pirate version was apparently distributing the hotfix for 1.0.4. as a version 1.0.4.2. It could be that the number 1.0.4.2. comes from there and then there is no wonder that people with legal versions can't find it on any of the official platforms.
