I'm asking because I bought the Imperial edition to have the full game and I just noticed a rather expensive DLC for sale, one that I don't seem to own, I'd like to know what the hell it is and the page sure isn't informative.

it upgrades any edition you have to a royal edition. If you've got imperial edition bundle it already includes most of digital goodies royal has.

But, but the imperial edition is supposed to... you know what? I don't even care any more. There's a reason buying a game at release is a loosing proposition nowadays, I just hoped that wouldn't be the case for what should arguably be a complete edition. I really shouldn't need a chart to know how to acquire all the stuff I want.

Think you've already got everything with imperial. Pretty sure it includes panda and season pass, no?
And then you've got maps, module, music and all that out of game stuff. Long story short, you don't need to buy that one, I believe.

Everything but the FLAC soundtrack that I thankfully never wanted and the two free DLC that I had to add separately to my account - why they were not included is beyond me though, they're free after all. I just hate the way GOG does DLC, DLC bundles and game editions... also how they do search and tags but I'm digressing.

Anyway, the game devs might want to rewrite the description page for the Royal Ascension DLC to make clear what it does.

I have the flac soundtrack, and I only own Imperial (plus the free DLC that weren't included, of course). In fact, fairly recently, gog finally fixed the "premium digital copy" DLC to have a Linux installer as well, so I have everything and don't even need to do an extra (admittedly trivial) manual step to get that last DLC.

I don't usually DL extras, only game and DLC so I didn't even glance at the right column but yes, I also have the FLAC as well as the MP3 that's actually supposed to come with this version. I really wish they'd fix the main game page though.

I encountered something similar with Pillars of Eternity (1 not 2) where I only own the Hero edition (base game), the Deadfire free DLC and the Marches Expansion Pack (basically everything but the extras). Not only doesn't GoG recognise the fact that I own the expansions individually, only the pack, but I somehow have the Royal edition extras that were supposed to come with the Definitive edition here on GoG.

And don't even get me started with Pillars 2 Obsidian edition - I own everything but the site doesn't recognise the soundtrack and the two expansion packs as being in my library despite recognising the dlc individually and having a big NOTICE at the top of the packs to inform us the content is in the Obsidian edition already. Or the fact that there are FIVE free DLC that I had to add to my account individually.

And the saddest part is that GoG was for the longest time the only place where you could get complete editions of older games. Hell, even newer games were like that. When Dragon Age Origin launched here this was the only place on the internet where you could get a complete edition with ALL the DLC in one place. Even EA's own Origin didn't have that option back then as a result of exclusive agreements over free DLC with a bunch of retailers.

Does this also include the preorder bonus? I have no interest in buying an incomplete game.

Based on a summary glance at the games original Kickstarter and what I have with the Pathfinder: Kingmaker - Imperial Edition - Enhanced Edition (why? just why owlcat games? why?) the only things that aren't available for me to dl seem to be the digital game walk-though and the digital Inner Sea World Guide. They might have never been completed or might come with the game and not need to be dl separately. I don't know. I just installed West of Loathing and Pillars and as such have no interest to DL this to check. (technically I just uninstalled WoL since I just finished it a few hours ago)

That being said, the, sigh, P:K IE EE does seem to also come with two more portraits and a red panda pet. Technically the Imperial Edition should have everything... practically you still need to put five free DLC in your account separately. If there were any other preorder bonuses I'm afraid I don't know of their situation.

EDIT. WAIT. I'm confusing Pillars 2 with Pathfinder Kingmaker. Pillars 2 has 5 free DLC you need to snag. Pathfinder has 2. Better but not perfect.

What comes with Imperial Edition

Game installers and updates:
Pathfinder: Kingmaker 2.0.8_gog 27.3 GB

DLC installers:
Varnhold's Lot 2.0.8_gog 1 MB
Bloody Mess 2.0.8_gog 1 MB
In-game player's portraits 2.0.8_gog 1 MB
Beneath The Stolen Lands 2.0.8_gog 3.7 GB
Arcane Unleashed 2.0.8_gog 1 MB
Premium Digital Copy 2.0.8_gog 1 MB
In-Game Pet - Red Panda 2.0.8_gog 1 MB
The Wildcards 2.0.8_gog 1 MB

And as EXTRAS

Map of Stolen Lands goodie
Maps 12 MB

Artbook & OST goodies
Soundtrack (FLAC) 1200 MB
Soundtrack (MP3) 195 MB
Artbook 569 MB

Chris Avellone Adventure Module goodies
Chris Avellone Adventure Module 3 MB
Pawns 23 MB

Here's hoping the edit sticks.

As far as I can find the pre order bonus includes:

Owlcat Pet
Expert’s Hat
Mesmerizing Necklace

Items if unlocked should be able to be picked up at the Olegs trading outpost at a house you can sleep at, in a chest beside the bed.

As I don't see any of them listed, I'll save my interest for when I do.

Also, how cheap is it to skim on the FLAC version of the soundtrack for the most expensive version of the game? That's Ubisoft levels of double-dipping, right there.

FWIW:

The digital game walkthrough is here for everyone to access: https://www.gamerguides.com/pathfinder-kingmaker/guide/guide-information/introduction

And the Inner Sea Guide is a pre-existing Paizo PnP PDF, so it can simply be bought at https://paizo.com/products/btpy8ief; it was just offered during the KS adding to the pledge tier cost at what was likely a slight discount.

Does it really though? Does it upgrade to the full Royal Edition? Royal Edition description also says it includes, "2 in-game items to help an aspiring adventurer (a signet that allows you to bless your party several times a day, and a belt with bonus disease and fatigue resistance). Premium in-game items are not designed to break the game’s balance."

The Royal Ascension dlc description doesn't seem to make any mention of in game items. Everything else sounds like it matches up, though.

Have no clue, It should on the face of it. I preordered explorer and bought season pass, so I don't have any first-hand evidence on that
And that's the problem. The only people that can truly know are the devs, someone from GOG or somebody who, for some reason, bought all versions on separate accounts and can compare them.

Not really. Someone who had explorer and bought the ascension DLC could tell what he/she got. I could, but I'm not interested in that DLC for multiple reasons.

PS all in-game items you get are kinda useless anyways. Only decent things out there is a con belt for kickstarter and amulet for preorder even that only cause having Octavia bitching and moaning about rest all the time is annoying, so just don't use Octavia early and problem solved. Sane goes for ammy, cause you can just hire a sylvan sorc merc and won't care about enchantment DC's. And past early stages all of the in-game items are meh.
