Am I supose to wait for the countdown of the quest or am I supose to do somthing in order to progress faster?

Which quest is it?
If you didn't already receive your barony then you need to kill the "stag lord" (bandit leader) before the end of the countdown or you'll loose (Jamandi explained this during the prologue)
