Do I need to reload from when the event/project was started or only before I return to the kingdom at completion?

14+ days of lost progress can get pretty irritating. But on the other hand, seems some of the DCs for the events are nosebleed high.

Fortunately you need to save scum only for the completion, it's just that you might need to do it quite a few times.
Yes the kingdom building of the game needs number twiking

it does, but is doable as is.

DC's are actually tolerable when you know exactly what you are doing and are making 0 mistakes. not a day wasted on the road, everything built in time, etc. That and you have to be lawful. Same goes for project timers - if you do everything perfectly you can do everything in time.

project prices are really off as well. most of them are never ever worth it.

if that is how it was planned by devs - I don't know. if it was up to me I'd cut all timers in half and it'd be perfect. easiest solution to that problem that doesn't require much effort. there is a mod that does exactly that on the nexus, if you want.

Yeah, didn't know about the lawful alignment necessity, and didn't really feel like starting over, so since I wasn't "perfect" on my choices, I'm already starting off gimped with that. And since the rest of the criteria relies on never making a mistake, you know, NO PRESSURE!!! Just what I want in a game to relax and enjoy. ;)

By the way thank you for the answers you've given to my other questions. It's been much appreciated.

you have exactly 2 options: 1st one is to go to nexus and get kingdom resolution mod and cut timers in half. it will make kingdom part a lot less annoying. you will still have to invest gold at the beginning, but at least you will have some time spare in case you are not optimal. the other is to wait for 1.1 where devs promised some kingdom changes.

what actually kills kingdoms is unrest. and that is hard to combat. but there are a few things you can do: never go into negative BP ever, always be near bald hilltop when there are about 30-25 days left for the curse quest so you will catch the outbreak, do main quests as fast as humanly possible so the unrest event DC doesn't accumulate.
Unrest is pretty much a death spiral. the worse it gets the more DC's on all events are - the more event fail. the more events fail the more unrest you get, and so on. unrest cards are the ones you actually might want to save-scum as there are no good ways to fix it, apart from 1000BP project

and you are welcome.
