I read somewhere that there is a bug with Armor Training and Tower Shield Training so you don't really need Fighter [Tower Shield Specialist] level above 9 to benefit from really high Dex, is it true?

This is off the topic, but what do you think about Pathfinder 2nd edition, especially the way multiclassing works?

It's the same thing as 5E. they streamline everything and dumb down as much as possible, meanwhile, they try making everything roughly equal, removing the actual impact of character building. Both 5e and PF2e have a niche. That being beer and snacks with friends or to DM for new players that won't do their math. And the main target audience are casual players that wouldn't need to learn much in the way of rules to play. It's not bad per se and there's no denying the casual market is the biggest one to tackle, so I guess it's only natural. But in the context of computer games, low overhead is not that much of a benefit since the computer can take the calculation part. For me personally - the more complex the game systems are - the more fun it is and PF2e and 5e both don't provide much for me. There are a few 5e PC games coming out sometime soon-ish. My personal opinion: 5e is a storytelling medium. The games will be exactly as good as the story will be, because it doesn't have much of anything in terms of tactics or character-building.

Hey, nice builds. Is there any build that can solo on challenging difficulty?

tsatsee: Hello InEffect.
I love your guides, I played trough the game with your builds 1 time, and know I want to play it again, but this time with a 4 man party. I will use a mod, to play with my main char, and 3 mercs, and turn on the option that only my active char's gets xp.
Could you suggest what builds I should use. My main focus is a common party. 1 fighter, 1 rouge, 1 mage, 1 cleric.
No need for new builds, just like to know, which ones to use.
For unfair it'd be hard to go without a bard. But overall you can just go with typical fighter val, Take nok-nok for a rogue since there isn't much to be done there, at least not with the majority of levels in rogue. Cleric doesn't matter if it's a companion cleric since they are both god-awful. So I guess that leaves MC for a sylvan.I love your guides, I played trough the game with your builds 1 time, and know I want to play it again, but this time with a 4 man party. Hello, InEffect.
I was reading all day your topic. Tha info here is huge. Thank you for it.
Another question. I would not like to play on Unfair, Only on Challange, and use the respec mode, so doesn't need to make mercs, but I could use the NPC's at wathever I want. So my question is.
What is the best party comp, for challangeing/hard for 4 man, with these builds.
Thanks you in advance.

Honestly, whatever you find fun mostly. Cookie-cutter 4-man party would be bard va(From Unfair guide)l, Melle sorc MC(from unfair guide), Choke me daddy(Unfair guide), Jubi(Not cause that party really needs him, he's just awesome) Or just take a sylvan sorc for a ride.

Hello InEffect!
Thank you for your work, it is just pure amazing.
My question is for your bard builds - how do I suppose to deal with arcane failure chance? Even 15 percent is enough to ruin some encounters.

Take off the armor, buff, put the armor back on. Shields don't count for them. And late you get yourself a singing steel breastplate that's perfectly fine to cast in. There's also a mithral breastplate tucked away near the troll dungeon if you hate playing dress-up that much.

*Your tools for solving early-game
**Easy to find/buy scrolls. You will have enough spells from leveling to grab everything you really need, but it’s nice to accelerate the process.
Gear: Monk Robes, best Elven Curve Blade you can find, +Stat Items, +AC items
A few words about spells. Scorching ray is only any good from lvl8 for you. Sneak attacks works on ray spells no problem.
Vampiric touch is taken to be used with reach metamagic rod to give you something with damage at lvl3. Is not mandatory, but is nice to have.
When EK10 crits he can use 1 spell as a swift action. So your tactics is hit em till you crit and then nuke wit whatever. Will be easy with Shatter. Or you can toss some defensive spells if you need those.
Turn on Fighting Defensively at lvl 4 and never turn it off again.
Rods are your friends. Use them.
Transformation you don't 'need' for AB, but it's still more AC.
Use crossbow till lvl 5. It'll be fine. Don't remember if you get one in the starting kit. You can borrow one from tartuccio and force him to use cantrips instead.
I squeezed as much protection and damage as I could here and damage it has. In tough fights don’t hesitate and chug Enlarge Person potion or toss a spell on him. You will lose a tiny bit of AB, but will safely chop away with reach. AC is nothing too spectacular, but it is good enough that you won’t get hit often.
Hi InEffect, longshot but thought I'd ask anyway. Is there a way to do this without the pally and monk dips? Don't feel like playing the lawful good alignment (personal preference)Role: Damage Dealer/Off-tank
