I'm curious, have you had the chance to try out the new DLC (endless dungeon)? Any thoughts as to which builds would be best suited to solo it? Is it still the old trio of DC/sylvan sorcerer, kineticist and vivisectionist?

Pretty much same as soloing the base game. Kineticist and Sylvan sorc. Druid too if you can get to creeping doom. idk how the hell one can do unfair last azlanti mode though(except sinking in 1000s of hours to just win out on RNG).

Could I ask what stat spread "Trip Vivi" would be as merc?
Or would that build not be feasible with only 20 stats.

The build is MAD, so it's gonna be much weaker as a 20BP. Would probably have to drop Wis by 1 and str by 1 and ramp Str.

Are the other "tank" builds better with 20PB?

eh... anything that needs to tank higher difficulties is pretty MAD in this game. 20PB is much easier to swallow on a caster.

Well... now I understand why you urged me to go tank on the Main Character.
Sorry for double post.

But do you think Trip Vivi is engaging/busy and fun [I know it's subjective] enough to play as the MC?
I would be trying your strategy of Valerie, Sylvan Merc and Trip Vivi for early game XP cheese.

Also just out of curiosity: What's your favorite build to play?

Favorite? I guess magus builds. Suffering through unfair start with str saint atm. It will pay off in the endgame. Just entered old sycamore. Level 5.5
HP management is hard, though, so you might want to grab harrim instead of jae at the tomb for faster divine access and swap to jae in act 2. I also use bard Val with a few tweaks for that. Will update the build today, I think(done).
And trip vivi... the thing is strong

I would love to see your gameplay one day. I bet I could learn a lot of tricks.

So the Harrim and Bard Valerie build [Thanks for the update] are fine now for higher difficulties? Since you mentioned you use it on unfair but the Valerie build itself mentions not having enough AC ramp.

Edit: Would Bard Valerie even make sense if I were to go Trip Vivi since it has bard levels already?

Val is bit of a suffer, but with slightly nerfed encounters she's ok. Just need to break the bank on armor for her.
Harrim... well thing is only use for cleric early is being a healer. Harrim is accessible and is a better healer, so he will do. Then swap to tristian when you get to him as he's even better at that (once you ramp MC to 5. don't save him before and abuse exp sliders). Once you get level6 you can save Jae and switch to her for life.

Thanks for the helpful tricks, so much to learn. One last [hopefully] question for today, what decides that Tristian is too injured to join my party before act 2? Is it just entering old Sycamore or Old Sycamore Depths? Same for Jaethal in this case in the kobold cage.

Whoever you save last will be "injured". But only tristian loses levels for it afaik(don't know if they fixed it or if it's intended. I never save him last). So everything before the kobold king is fair game.

Oh so I can explore and slap everything in Sycamore depths as long as I don't kill sootscale? I could swear I had a playthrough where both Harrim and Tristian were injured... Might be my memory being fuzzy though.

Edit: Sorry didn't see the edit. Question answered.

Also have to ask again if Bard Valerie would make sense when I play trip Vivi. It would be 2 Characters with Bard levels. Though I guess Valerie would have more bard levels.

Trip vivi isnot really a bard. He gets those levels late and doesn't do the singing things at all.
