Does anyone know if the devs have commented on whether or not they intend to support GOG's instant patch system ala Steam? I try to support GOG whenever possible, but it's annoying when devs use the old system of relying on GOG employees to push the patch. I know it's a dev problem and not a GOG problem, but timely patches are important on new releases so I'm hoping they've commited to using the instant patch system here.
You should ask this over at Owlcat Games.

Woud love to, but still waiting for access. I would certainly appreciate it if you would ask on my behalf.
In my case its in the options:

Gog galacy: Left side are the games. There are two buttons: "play" and "more".
Click on "more": Then there are "options".
Click on them and you can choose for automatic updates.

But i must warn you: i just had an update, which did improve the speed of the game. But now the item menu is super bugged up to the point, that stuff can just vanish when trying to move it....

Yeah, I know about that. My question is whether or not Owlcat intends to use the tools available to push updates on GOG "instantly" like happens on Steam or whether to intend to just upload the files and wait for GOG staff to package them for deployment.

Judging by the thread on here about the MAC version, I'm guessing it's the latter (the patch was available on Steam for a long time before GOG). Where this becomes particularly annoying is weekends, because GOG doesn't work on weekends. So if a dev releases a patch on Thursday or Friday, GOG players probably won't get it until the next week.

This isn't a big deal for older games, but is on new releases. To be clear, this isn't GOG's fault. The developers have the tools available to them to publish their own patches on GOG just like Steam, but many seem to be choosing not to do so. I hate to punish GOG for this, but I don't want to purchase new releases that will be heavily patched on here unless the developer will put forth the effort to push those patches in a timely manner.
Which patch do GOG users currently have? Steam is up to 1.03.
1.03 just updated few minutes ago. With all the 3 hotfixes so far it seems they come out at gog at around the same time they come out at steam. So the speed of patches seems good.
Just downloaded 1.0.3 and now game is crashing every time when first loading bar is coming to an end.
I am really disappointed with that.
No patches unless I want to download the full 30GBs again. So I'm stuck on 1.01, which apparently is a good thing given the amount of issues people are having.
We need a topic with all the separate patches for sure.

I know that many ppl do not like Galaxy, but it helps. Patches are approx 240-250 megs.

I've tried to download it, it's windows only.
Windows gets immediate patches.
It also get the reason why gog was hesitant about this - patches aren't tested and will break shit.

Yes. but in this case the patches are put in immediately. If you do not turn it off.

This afternoon they put in 1.04. It solved some bugs. But "because of infrastructure problems in the company (?!)" something went wrong and you could not see the spells anymore, when you wanted to level up your characters.

This night then they released 1.04+, which should adress this topic. I will see it tomorrow ;)...

But yeah: it makes you think about turning the patches away until they are working properly. On the other hand it is like driving over a brigde, which is just build: you cannot continue, until the next part is build. Of course, you can just make holidays and come back, when the bridge is finished. But this damn bridge is so beautiful, you want to see the next part....
