Hi there, first of, let me thank you for your build guides, they are really helping me out ,@Roahin.

I just want to solve a little problem I'm having with your Amiri - Beast Lord build, maybe tthe guide is old and stuff have changed ever since you made it, but I'm reaching lvl 9 and your guide says to take Cleave (RF) and Cleaving Finish, unfortunately, none of those are available. Only Cleave with no RF and the other choice is a skill/feat related to a weapon choice.

Like sword and shield a skill/feat towards that

Two handed sword, two weapons user and so on and so on.

My question is, did i do something wrong or did the game got updated and your build suffered because of it?

I would also like to apologise if naming or terms used in this post are incorrect in some way, I never played a game that uses this leveling system before so I dont really understand whats going on.

Thanks once again, great guides!

left1000: @Roahin What's your take on a full companion party? I just got ineffect's take in another thread, and I'd love a contrasting opinion.

I know it's ideal for the MC to be a tank, but I've foolishly decided my main is going to be a gnome arcane sorcerer. So that position is already locked.
I don't care about keeping characters within a theme, but I do 100% care about cheating, I 100% will not cheat to change any starting classes/feats/alignments.

I'd also like to keep character's within their standard role, so I'd want valerie to stand up front, but I don't care if she takes 3or4 different multiclasses that don't fit her biography as long as I end up with an effective frontline valerie.
ATM, I'm thinking I might go noknok and valerie on the frontline, ekun/jubi/maincharacter on the backline. With either harrim/tristan/or jaethal clericing in the middle potentially with a polearm.

I wanted to run jaethal tank, for all the cool undead bonuses, but, well, I just cannot think of anyway to make it work, because if jaethal were to multiclass to improve her tanking, I'd need then harrim/tristian/linzi to be somehow able to heal jaethal (my solution for this would be to mystic theurge so i can spontaneously turn nukes into inflict wounds to heal jaethal, while at the same time spontaneously turning buffs into normal heals for the rest of the party)....

Before I recruit noknok I might tryout amiri standing on the frontline and linzi standing in back where jubi will eventually go.
Basically every single one of these builds is till in the open, and up for the debate. I'd love a way to somehow end up with a druid or freebooter, but there doesn't really seem to be room in the party for either. Except maybe at level 1. I plan to recruit a level 1 mercenary to bulk up the party before the ancient tomb.

I do like linzi, and I love bards, but ATM I'm reasonably commited to trying to make valerie into a tank bard, because valerie is just more interesting lore wise to me than linzi.... I do kind of wish I could keep all the companions in the party! but of course there isn't room for that.
If you're playing on normal, I wouldn't worry about a thing, especially since you're going to be rolling with Ekun AND Nok-Nok.AND Juibilost. Since I see you're leaving Octavia behind, there's nothing to worry about. My first playthrough was a wizard and I ALWAYS had Octavia and Linzi with me (Until HATEOT, that is). I believe Roahin and InEffect talk about this, but it's almost impossible to screw up your party on normal mode.

My current playthrough has me playing a cleric of Erastil, mainly so I could leave Harrim behind after a couple of playrhroughs. For the first two, I basically ran Valerie/Harrim/MC/Ekun/Octavia/Linzi but I wanted to experience all the companions.. I feel like you might do the same. And in my experience, ANY valerie build works where she can self-buff. Valerie + Heart of Valor + Arcane Armor Mastery (I believe that's the correct name) will carry you through end game quite nicely. Good luck and know that I beat the game with the characters from this guide.

Just take Cleave via RF first. You can't select Cleaving Finish because you need Cleave for it. When you have Cleave via RF, the UI should update so you can select CF as "normal" feat.
In doubt, just click show "all" feats.

It seems I've made a small mistake. I built a Ranger for my main character. I've been using the following companion builds:

Amiri Beastlord
Linzi Iron Halfling
Octavia Arcane Trickster
Tristian Fire Lord
Valerie Juggernaut

My ranger has a (pretty weak at the moment) bear companion.

Everything was going fine until I got to the Stag Lord's fort. Then I discovered that we have no web or grease spells available. I had to rest to give Tristian two slots of Hold Person. So far, three different times some %*^( bandit has rung that stinking bell. :-(

I dunno. Maybe I should see how close I am to 5th level (Octavia gets web at level 5 using this build). Or start over. Or try to figure out what happened to the Wand Of Grease I thought I had.

IAC, I'm a bit disappointed right now. :-(

@Roahin, you still active? I'm new to PF: Kingmaker, and there's one sub-class that intrigues me, but I can't find a single build for it anywhere... Sage - Sprceror The Arcane Bolt reminds me a little of D&D 3.5s Warlock which was one of my favorite classes to play, but they don't exist in PF

Update: It turned out not to be as difficult as it started out to get through the Stag Lord's fort, even without a bunch of grease or web spells. I just hand to save and reload a couple of times. The Stag Lord himself was kind of an anti-climax. :-)

Roahin: Amiri - Beast Lord
End Game: Barbarian 2 / Sacred Huntsman 6 / Ranger 5 / Two-Handed Fighter 7
Melee Damage Build
Essentially a bump to get the thread back on the first page, because otherwise it's a pain to look up stuff when a new level is acquired. Thank you for the great work btw, and it would be awesome if you got back to that group of yours that was sadly lost to harddisk failure (iirc).

Usually I am not a fan of all the munchkinism as a certain rage-filled forum calls it, but I decided to try out this build for Amiri. Will probably not use her in the final party, but early on it might be nice. And thankfully this does make sense lore-wise, which is always positive. Despite getting a rusty mace up our asses very regularly (buy oil, lots of it), that pet of hers has helped in these brutal first levels. Although I finally gave up on Hard and put it down to Challenging. It was nowhere near the realm of "fun" to spam F8 until at least 3-4 gods put their protective hands over the dice.

Or you can mark this thread as "my favourite topic" and it will always be on top. The checkbox is on the top and on the bottom of the page.

True. But that would only help me, and not all others that may be interested in build threads :)

@Roahin is this tested in Unfair? This is my first playthrough in it and I also am reading
@Ineffect 's guide for it, who says companions are mediocre and worse on it.

Do you consider the game winnable with just companions or should I go mercenaries?

The game is perfectly winnable with companions, though at the hardest difficulty it certainly can be challenging. Companions, btw, can be respecced and will have much better stats than mercenaries.

unfair with stock companions and no multiclassing is doable. Done that, although it's slow and very boring. Probobly the second most boring thing to do in the game after degenerate solo unfair.

Roahin: Level 3 - Knife Master 2
Skills: Mobility +1, Trickery +1, Knowledge (Arcana) +1, Perception +2, Persuasion +1
Feats: Improved Unarmed Strike, Dodge[RT]
I know, I'm REALLY late to the party. But, why the Improved Unarmed Strike on Linzi for the Iron Halfling build? She's meant to fight with a dagger, and I don't see what IUS would help with that...

For subsequent Crane Style and Crane Wing feats to raise AC.

Ah, right, that. Much obliged.
