Mastery is for trip/bite build(s). Serpent price is a better dps weapon outside of that.

ok perfect...yeah the trip tank viv is there to trip so I guess I will switch to mastery. I mean the damage is nice too, but have anything trip over and over is better considering I decided to do cheese tripper party with the viv, jaethal built around trip and the kineticist companion you get....all of them have tandem trip at high levels.

also I really like your barb-trip / viv build with that scimitar you get later - "thundering claw of bear god" or whatever. really comes to life with the lightning strikes on natural attack hit.

Regarding build request. I was wonder if there is a build for Dex two handed? Ideally assimar char, to continue my current playthrow.

I was thinning about Curve Elven sword (since already start game with it) or any other exotic weapon to keep with a style of assimar as long as two handed.

Ranger or Sword Saint (to get proficiency) may be intresting but one is Wis,so monk can work, second is Int.

Crane wing/riposte works with whatever weapons because game is balanced and has no issues whatsoever.
Well... if you want dex 2-hander - yes it will have to be curve sword.
Will need to ramp ab/damage somehow, so V12 is set for sure. Then you'd need Ro4 to get the finesse training. With 4 levels left, you'll be looking for more AB and monk AC, so, naturally, M1, slayer 1, something 2. That something would be either paladin or fighter. The former adds ab vs evil, which is not bad and the latter - feats.
There is also an option of V16/Ro3/M1 that will have to go for 13 levels without finesse training and would sack UD and stuff. Or V16/Ro4 that won't get monk AC. Really, it's not that hard to cap out on AC still, but will be harder for sure.

Any chance you could make the Varnhold cleric merc into a full build?

Would be really nice to take a pet healer along in the main campaign.

Edit: Or would the build not work in higher difficulties and max lvl scenario?

I think it would be nice for people attempting higher difficulties run with build guidance.
Like how you told me to take a Sylvan Sorc along.

I do think there would be desire for 1-3 merc types for people to take a long so they can fill their gaps if they maybe don't like a companion and have nothing else to fill the role.

With less focus on DEX, I guess I can look into two handed with armor to compensate for monk AC loss. Do you have any builds for that by chance? Preferably ranger / slayer maybe with study target, if it is any good?

Last question, what is so special about V12, does sneak from Rogue stack with Vivi?
And what are your thoughs on Sword Saint, I have not seem many builds with that one

In your build it is explained like this:

Is Acid Splash then an addiotional attack to his bow attacks? I am trying a new run now and want to yous some builds from you. But so far I know from my last gameplay with Octavia, I gave her a shortbow and also made auto Acid Splash, but she just auto attacked then with Acid Splash. But maybe I am missing something here?

Trip vivisectionist is pretty OP. The build is in the main thread.

You can't really ramp AC in armor. At least not without a lot of crutches from class feats, which ranger/slayer has a grand total of none. There is a decent slayer build in the main thread, though.

V12 gives greater mutagen, greater invis and echolocation. Apart from that it's crippling strikes and rogue feat access if you take a class that would get a full list. It's good.


Playing my saint vivisector build on unfair at the moment. It's going fine. The start was bumpy, though, as always for unfair.

yes. At magus 1 it's not very impressive as it only adds a cantrip. At magus 2 it adds another arrow to your volley. Only downside is he acts later in the round, which is not a big deal, especially for a ranged character.

A thanks my mistake haven't seen that there is a subclass Eldrich Archer... That explains it.

I actually didn't see the edit until now. I didn't know that cleric can actually be a stinking cloud bot replacement. Would he still be able to heal somewhat decent? If Yes, could you make that into a merc build pretty please?

Full replacement - no. There is still haste, glitterdust and other good things you kinda want. He's a serviceable pick for a small party, though.
