Looking to restart with a new character.
I've never played pathfinder before this game. In other similar games I've enjoyed playing;
Ranger dex based two weapon fighter
Bard dex based two weapon fighter
Rogue dex based two weapon fighter

With high perception and high use magic device (to use alignment specific or class specific armour and weapons, I'm
not sure if pathfinder allows this)

Hmmm, seems like there is a theme there :D

In pathfinder I've reached L11 with a dex rogue(no stat less than 10 at L1) using just a rapier(no Two weapon fighting) and disarm. With all the skill points, outflank, rogue talents and disarm I'm enjoying it.

Now patch 1.1 is out I'm thinking of restarting and would like some advice on my character.

I would like a dex based melee'er and as we're in a sword lord area and I've seen a couple of dueling swords better than the repiers I've found. I was thinking of either an Aldori Defender or a Sword Saint with dueling sword. Maybe going into duelist too.

I've seen that duelist gets combat reflexes and like the idea of parry & ripost, but it would be getting those abilites in the later levels. Would I be better staying 'pure' Sword saint or Aldori defender, getting combat reflexes earlier and using disam?

If I go sword saint would it be worth pushing Int higher than 14?

Has anyone played an Aldori defender, if so were there any Aldori defender specific dialogue / encounters?

Thanks.

dex based melee ranger is pointless.
melee bards are only decent as tanks. you seem to want damage
rogue would look something like Noble Assassin. it drops high perception from your list but at least it will be serviceable. really, though unless you run wis class with class skill in perception or an inquisitor you are not getting 35+ perception that is needed to find every location in the game. I guess you can invest a ton of feats into perception if you want it that bad.

now about weapons. taking 2 imp crits for different weapons is not sustainable. also both dueling swords and rapiers have no half-decent endgame weapons. neither do kukris, but at least those have good crit range and small size.

in short, what you want with dex/wis/cha/con/int as pretty high stats will not survive hard and might have problems on normal. you need to cut something from you wishlist if you want to finish the game comfortably. also UMD is pretty useless. only good thing about it is to be able to use res and mass heal scrolls.

pretty sure i found an op dueling sword at the house at the end of time, i don't remember its name and have deleted those saves but i remember it was the most powerful weapon in game tho by the time you get that sword the game is almost over.

yeah and it's bad, compared to longswords, for example. and you get it super-late. when you get longsword from a master at the beginning of act 5 give or take and there is not one, but several good longswords from Nazrielle.

you are welcome. don't forget there is a clickable index in the 1st post, so you don't have to search for anything manually.
