Hello!

The small bag is 2,500 g, and reduces weight by 100 lbs. The large bag is 10 times that price, but only reduces 200 lbs. So you can reduce your carrying weight by 200 lbs for 5,000 g by buying two small bags. Is there any point to saving for the large one? I got my info from the wiki, is there something the descriptions are leaving out?

There is not infinite supply of bags of holding. So you either buy what you are offered or pass it. Market economy doesn't exist in the game.

Thanks for the info.
Not all that much to spend money on either, and soon enough money is raining from the sky, so you may as well buy them. I like to save up and buy it as early as possible. Very useful in the early game.
Just an FYI but there is another item fairly early in the game that can act as a 200 lb bag of holding. Sort of. Regardless, unless your party consists of low-Str characters, you shouldn't need any bags of holding. Just skip on all the loot that has a bad gp/weight ratio. About the only thing you would be carrying regularly that will take up a lot of weight are camp supplies, and unless you're going into a dungeon where you need to rest underground a lot, you probably don't need more than 6 at any given time.
