After my game ending with a broken empire back last year, I want to start a new game of PFK. As it seems the last update was made back in January (and Owlcat presumable working on Wrath now): can I safely assume, that I would be downloading the final finished product now with v 2.0.8?

No.

Also, if you lost the game to the broken Barony I'd suggest you to play something simpler.

Grrymjo: No.
Ah well... I'll play anyway, but thanks for the reply. :)

That's.... weirdly demeaning of you to say so, especially seeing I gave zero detail on what exactly happend in my game. I could have done without that part of your post.

There will be a patch next month that's supposed to add TB mode for whatever reason. And then probably another to maybe fix half the things they'll break with that. As to if they'll add any substantial fixes to stuff that works wrong... who knows?

That being said, the game is perfectly playable and doesn't have any critical bugs to my knowledge, so it would be a pretty safe choice to download and play through on the current version.

Ah, TB, yeah, I won't be using that anyway.
Thanks for the answer. :)

Well, tough luck. You might want to ask the mods to ban me, but I would not recommend this game to you anyway.

Just an FYI, but if you have problems with kingdom management, I have found what I consider to be the best possible way to

a). relieve yourself of the burden of kingdom management
b). eliminate any chance of your game ending due to kingdom failure

Auto kind of stinks. It mismanages a lot of things and can easily bring your kingdom stats into negatives, if you can believe it. You will never fail due to Auto mode's idiocy in 2.0.8, but it's still annoying. It's not clear why Auto struggles so much. I can report that your kingdom can spend a lot of time at "crumbling" without anything failing. The only way it will fall (I think) is if you leave certain things undone for too long. Things you have to take care of "in person".

If you do not want Auto to do such a bad job, you can get a mod called Kingdom Resolution. I tested it with Auto and it works! Reduce the completion time for everything to 1 day, reduce BP costs to 1%, and set DCs to -100 so even braindead Auto can't botch it. Viola! Auto mode will actually assign advisors, rank up stats, complete projects, annex land, and build/upgrade villages like its supposed to. I think the only thing you'll miss out on will be teleportation services. Which is a shame, but it's livable.

If you have not used Auto before, you still have to interact with the management table and "wait for the next event" for it to do anything. But with Kingdom Resolution, it finally will stop embarassing itself, and you can get down to the business of playing the better parts of the game.
Thanks mna99 for the input (and still no thanks to Grrymjo for your continued bad atitude).
I have no "problem" with kingdom management. I did things a certain way cause I wanted to, and found that partway into the game it failed. I could loaded a rather old save, or restart that game, start a new one, but at that point I wanted to play something else for a bit. I did, now I'm back to PF and I'm going to approach the game in a different way, both in terms of the character being played and - matching the character - the way I'll approach the kingdom building.

I want to add a possible retraction. Using Kingdom Resolution in combination with Auto seems to have produced some crashy behavior during Season of Bloom. Not sure why! I've finished the game with Kingdom Resolution without Auto, so it works there, but mixing with Auto seems to make the AI get stuck or . . . something.
Cheers for that. I'm not going to use those mods anyway, feels a bit like turning off Kingdom Building, and I'm not in the market for that.
And as for my initial question, this morning I got the newsletter from owlcat through Kickstarter, announcing their 2.1 patch. So THAT'S all cleared up ;)
