Is Fantasy General and Pacific General on the way????
And People's General! Don't forget People's General!
I need it. Period.
All the great old general series. I'd pay $10 a wack easy for each one of them. Of course, I'd hope GOG could do better than that.

i would pay even more then that for them we need to have GOG go after all the SSI titles

I second this. I had (have) Pacific General for a much older computer. It's still running Windows 98. Pacific General is one of those timeless strategy games. Sick of running ground battles? Fight a naval battle. Need extra help in your amphibious assault? Bring those destroyers in as close as you dare to pound those Japs all the way back to the Home Islands. THEN invade the Home Islands to win the war.

The first and only game that truly shows how valuable those battleships, cruisers and destroyers could be in a well-planned amphibious assault on a small island. A barrage of 1400 pound 14" shells or 2200 pound 16" shells could be FAR more devastating than a perfectly executed air strike. Lay a barrage or two with airstrikes afterwards? You're gonna win everytime.

I also agree with this post. I miss the old SSI line of games. The General games were great, but so were the more hard core war games. I keep thinking I'll dig out my old atari 800 and boot up warship or USAAF. Last time I did, I was surprised by the amount of time the game takes accessing the floppy on USAAF. Anyone that had an Atari 800 can tell you those drives sounds like a Mac truck with a bad clutch and I keep thinking the things will self destruct.

As Newbe80 said, PacGen was very cool. I've tried to get it to work with win7 but the color gets messed up and crashes. I would be happy to pay more for PacGen and others in the SSI line including the D&D games. However, my favorites are the old war games.
SSI is dead! Long live SSI!

(Apparently, they had been absorbed/acquired by Ubisoft over a decade ago.)
Really would like Panzer General III, Scorched Earth. So far, no luck. :-(
Another plea for PG3: scorched earth; pretty please?

Yah, I voted there. Maybe I will again. I live in Illinois, and they vote multiple times up in Chicago / suburbs, so I guess I'm allowed.

Really, really, really want PGIII Scorched Earth. They've got great tanks & self-propelled artillery, and air craft are better than PG3D, too. I can only play PG3D so long, before I get frustrated with the crummy equipment, even for the Germans.

Open General

In case someone's wondering about Fantasy General; it's not a direct cone, but it seems to be at least inspired by it: Battle for Wesnoth.
