I just downloaded Panzer General 2... and I can't play it... I've seen the exact problem posted here and have tried every fix related to any and all issues but still the game won't run properly

The game boots fine, no problems there. Once I get to the main menu, it all looks good... until I move the cursor. Then wherever I drag the cursor turns black, effectively making it impossible to see anything. As I said, I have already seen this issue posted on another forum, but that fix did not work for me. I have tried a number of other fixes and nothing is working. If anyone has any ideas let me know!

I have Windows 10 64-bit... I know that makes a difference for certain fixes

This forum is for the panzer general series and covers several games. Which game were you referring to with your question?

Panzer General 2... I just edited my question to mention that, thanks
I just booted up and played a game of Panzer General 2 on my Windows 10 64 it machine. It worked perfectly with no issues. I know that there can be a lot of things that can be different even 2 windows 10 machines. It could be directplay not activated, it could be where you have installed the game(program files), it could be an issue if you had previously installed and then uninstalled the game. It could be a driver issues. It could be the monitor and a scaling/refresh issue with the setup you have.

I wish I could give you a direct this is how to fix your issue but due to the multiple options it could be a number of different issues.

I had the same issue. Find wing32.dll on the net and place it into syswow64 folder. Worked for me at least.

I had the same problem on a similar system. Tried a bunch of stuff, finally reloaded the game and let the installer put the game icon on the desktop (which I had denied earlier, running it from the start menu). Now it runs fine from either the icon or start menu.

Makes no sense, but . . .
Get dgVoodoo and replace the ddraw.dll with the one from dgvoodoo. Add exe and config, launch and play.
It's amazing you have to jump through these hoops to play a game purchased on GoG, when it is GoG's responsibility to make sure products they sell work on the most popular operating system.

Yeah, not sure how decisions are made which wrapper to use, but I have a personal hate for nglide, because it never works. dgVoodoo on the other hand has never failed me.

Thanks you, this works for me!
