Hi,
Anyone played Painkiller Overdose????? And if Yes What do you think about it ????? I read about it on a games magazine but it seems to be not as good as the original Painkiller.

It doesn't play at the same pace as the orginal painkiller or battle out of hell.
The game has less enemies until the last 1/3 of the game and they are much harder hitting then normal painkiller. Some of them are also downright annoying with attacks you just won't beable to dodge even when bunnyhopping about.
While some levels are fun, others were a little annoying or uninspired. The guns are little better either being taken from painkiller which is fine, but the new ones are not very fun, espescially the sword. All the bosses also suck, the solution to killing them is painfully obvious and with the cards you unlock in that game I managed to down most them in 30 seconds or less.
Saying this, the upside to painkiller overdose is that alot of the monsters in the game look cool and are fairly orginal. Unfortunatly they recycle the same attacks between quite a few different monsters, probably because they run out of ideas.
It's not a bad mod, but if you recently played painkiller I would not play overdose or you will be disapointed. I would also not spend a great deal of money on this game. I managed to get ahold of it really cheap and it was ok while it lasted but its defiantly not a painkiller game.

No, there's a new protagonist and he's awful and NEVER SHUTS UP, EVER and completely ruins the game.
Since the game isn't very good, it's not much of a loss, but he's still a terrible bit of design.

Belial or something like that, half angel half demon protagonist. Frostcircus is right when he says he never shuts up, you get more one liners then an entire duke nukem episode within the first level of the game.

In the Holy Bible Belial was the first Prince of Hell since Lucifer betrayed God and taken his place..... Maybe he's the same one???????

the game was made by a modding team, originally over dose was a mod of the original painkiller, until the dev team decided to pick up the members and sell the game.

It's not. The level design is uninspired at best, and abysmal at worst. Spawn points tend to follow you around rather than being in just one place, so enemies spawn on top of you all the time. The weapons are not as well designed as Painkiller; some are far too powerful, and others are essentially useless. All around it's subpar in comparison.
