This is a game that has a native Linux version, but it is not available on GOG. I'd happily buy it form here (no drm is a big draw + I really like GOG, even though they seem to often neglect Linux users..), but guess I just have to buy it from steam.
A lack of Linux versions of games on GOG is solely on the devs/publishers, not GOG itself.
If it is important to you, send a letter to the dev (or find some way to contact them) letting them know there is a demand for it. Sometimes they listen!

You can also report missing Linux builds (and missing Mac builds and DLCs) to the 2nd class citizens thread, which will gain more attention from the GOG community. Of course, it doesn't guarantee anyone else will chase this up for you - the best course of action is to contact them yourself, and make your voice heard. Otherwise Steam and lazy devs just keep winning by default. :(

Thanks for the reply, and for showing me the way to fight this :P I can see it is already reported to 2nd class citizens thread, so I will try to contact devs myself and see what happens. Cheers mate.

No no, thank YOU for being so civil about it and considering taking action! :D The more of us making noise about it, the more there's a chance of something changing.

Best of luck!

Not universally true. Search for the article about the missing Linux version of the Metro games. GOG have admitted that they refused the Linux version because of unspecified technical issues.

... but this doesn't disprove my point. :o Even in that case, GOG is not responsible for the game having technical issues, nor should it be their place to fix them. Again it rests on the devs.
The cases where GOG takes it on themselves to resolve technical issues is from a storefront standpoint - they have a service to their customers to uphold, to fix technical issues that come from GOG's installers, or to liase with the devs to fix in-game problems. I imagine this is a whole other story with old games where the dev company is defunct... it seems GOG takes it on themselves as much as possible, at that point.

I don't know the full story with Metro, since I don't work for either company. But I know there are a few games that have been pulled due to technical issues that the devs refused to fix, so GOG no longer wanted to sell the games. Such actions being a good or bad thing depends on your stance: would you rather have a mess, or not at all?

(Though there are still many games on the store that you could argue should be pulled for the same reason... I have no idea what GOG's mentality is about this stuff, since it flipflops all the time, lol)

I still think that both parties are to blame in most situations. Many developers report that GOG is really bad at communicating with them (as bad as with the customers). Another example is the missing Linux version of Megaquarium – there are no real reports on this, but it seems that the missing Steam runtime (i.e. a precompiled bundle of libaries) is to blame, but the same libraries could be used for the GOG version. We will probably never know, but since linuxvangog isn't working here anymore I suspect that we will see even less Linux versions.
THenry145, did you manage to contact them?
Disappointing to see no Linux version. Don't think I will buy it if they don't add it.

Sorry for replying this late, I did not get a notification for this thread for some reason..

I did contact them (multiple times actually), but no response.
