It would be better if the company did like most good co. and gave the def. version at a discount. I have owned the game forever and not played much. I don't think I like it enough to spend $40 more for a def. version. And I'm not getting it cuz I didnt buy the DLC.?

So just so I can understand this clearly, you didn't like the game enough to play it very much or buy either of it's two expansions but you are now upset that they haven't given you the definitive edition with both of it's $30 expansions for free?

And you think you deserve it? Just because, I guess? Despite not actually having supported the developer and really been interested in their work?

That's just gross entitlement.

So, it's not advertised much, but on the pages for the original game and its DLC it mentions that anyone that owns the entire game (prior to definitive) gets an update to the definitive edition for free. It's the "how" that isn't clear. If you own the original game and its DLC, add the Definitive Edition to your cart like you were purchasing the new version. You should see the price adjust. "Purchase" the game (should be $0.00, like some of GOG's giveaway games) and you should be set. How long you've played the game has no bearing, only your owning the entirety of the original version of the game, DLC et all (not including the soundtrack DLC).

It actually says that if you own the game and the three brothers DLC you get it for free, it doesn't say you had to own them before the def edition release. In fact I had the core game and the first DLC, and i just bought the second DLC with a discount, went to the def edition page, added it to the cart and got it for free.
