Anyone else with the problem that the game crashes right in the beginning when you hit start?

Any solutions?

Cheers!

Ok, I found a temporary fix that you can use. It seems to be a compatibility problem with the graphics driver and DX11.
You can force the game to run in DX9 by starting the file with the command -force-d3d9.

For that go into the game folder and right click the file "Launch Outward". Then add in the end of the path the command -force-d3d9.

The whole path should look something like this: "D:\GOG\Outward\Outward.exe -force-d3d9"
Ok, just found out that if you do that you can't start the game from the GOG launcher, but only from the Launch Outward file in the game folder.

To be able to launche the game from the GOG launcher you have to go into the games settings in the GOG and then add there a special parameter for the start. As parameter you simply add there "-force-d3d9".

Do you mean Nvidia GTX 1050? Make sure you're not using integrated graphics and are actually using your dedicated graphics card. I personally use a laptop with a Nvidia 1050ti and have no problems.

I set the game to use the 1050 be ydefault. However this does not work... The game starts only using the integrated 620... with a result I am sure you can imagine ;-)

I would try setting your global settings so it's using the high performance Nvidia processor and then restarting your computer to see if that works. Also try running the game as administrator. Hope that helps you out.
Hi guys,

update on my side. I contacted the producer Nine Dots Studio and they pointed out to me, that either the graphics driver or Citrix might cause the issue. Since updating the driver didn't fix it (Geforce GTX 1080), I checked on my installed Citrix Workspace.

As chance wants it, Citrix offered me an update. After the successful update (for which I had to manually terminate Citrix Workspace after the update download finished, but before installing) now the game runs fine without the workaround.

So you might try updating or closing your Citrix.

My current Citrix version is: 19.9.0.21 (1909)

My girlfriend owns it on GOG and is having crashing issues related to DX11 also. She hasn't had any troubles startinga game it would just randomly crash while playing. Forced it to run in DX9 and it no longer crashed but it would occasionally minimize the game abruptly for some reason. I don't even know what Citrix is to be honest so I'm pretty sure that's not the issue for us.
Outward.exe caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005)
in module Outward.exe at 0033:5da4e9a7.

This is my error. Cant start the game... Any ideas?
