So in game I can't seem to backspace my player name to set it to what I would like. Google seems to indicate that this was a problem with anything after win ME. Has anyone found a work around for this or where to manually change it. A random forum post somewhere said a registry edit was required but I don't see a player name key underneath the Outlaws entry.

I noticed the same thing when I tried to overwrite an old savegame. I could add to the save name but I couldn't remove the old name. Not a big deal but annoying none the less.

The registry location for the Player Name is at:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > LucasArts Entertainment Company > Outlaws > Users > Default User > Multiplayer

The value to modify for the Player Name is "Network Name"

While you're in there, you might change the "Default Game" to just Outlaws. You won't be able to type in the name of the map anyway, so this is just an easy generic label.

AND, you should probably set "Kills To End Game"( I think this number will be used for CTF captures as well) and "Maximum Players" as well for the same reason.
Some folks have said they can use the OLConfigurator to do all this. I haven't gotten that to work reliably.

I wish GOG would recompile the game and fix this. They could fix about 5 other bugs by recompiling with the updated keyboard dll (olkbd.dll)

How would they do that? I don't think they have the source to the game.
nvm
