It was a bug that was patched already. But you'll have to download the game again, because there were so many changes that the patch would be about the size of the game, so gog simply changed the installer for the game.

Yeah, and that sucks because I need to redownload the entire game. Aww crap. It's too bad that such a wonderful game received such a botched release. :(

I did manage to finish the current version yesterday, so I believe once you download it you'll be good to go. I'd only suggest you save before talking to any talan where you know an exchange of goods between characters is about to happen, because I had a few instances where the exchange would not happen properly and characters would be standing there, without moving and without returning to proper game. It's rare, but it happens and it's a bit annoying (they worked properly on a second try, at least).

Alternatively, you can wait until the next major patch arrives.

I think it is still possible to progress in the game while avoiding certain quests. You can't get a magwa? You still can use one of the walkthroughs on the web to solve the temple/idol puzzle and perhaps succeed in getting the Mon. But that takes a seasoned player who completed the game beforehand, newcomers will definitely feel lost.

If the console was just renabled once more it'd help solve or provide work arounds for a lot of people.
