Here's the latest installer version we have so far:

setup_outcast_2.2.0.19.exe

Maybe you have a slightly older install or something? In any case, please send a ticket to Support about this, please :)

thanx :D
Okay
that's weird. My HD is showing I have 2.0.2.16 but my Library is showing only 1.1.3.18756 available.

I have patches 2.1.3.17, 2.1.4.18 already installed and 2.2.1.20 unable to install. I'm way confused. I'll send support a ticket but 1st I wanted to see if anyone else had any ideas.

I have the same issue, reinstalling to see if it fixes the issue.

I decided to redownload the whole thing and although my library says 1.1.3.18756, the downloader says it is downloading 2.2.0.19. :P
Ok, can confirm, downloading installer currently on offer in our account pages (filename: setup_outcast_2.2.0.19), reinstalling on top of previous install and applying the patch (filename: patch_outcast_2.2.1.20) works

I don't know if I can speak for other people as well, but Outcast's current patching madness shows how much the Galaxy Client is needed - hunting down patches, some not working with specific base installs, having to download huge installer packages again, changelogs only available on the forums, etc.

The bigger GOG becomes (and the more recent games become available here), the more "bleeding edge" these releases will be (and as is the nature of software, the more updates will come the way).

There was some kind of "sign up for the alpha" thing for Galaxy in 2014 and since then I've noticed nothing but silence (apart from the "coming in 2014" chestnut that didn't materialize), so some update would be appreciated.

(Patching and keeping games updated is still where Steam reigns supreme, I don't mind losing the community and achievements-feature, but Galaxy was supposed to tap into this as well).

But both the installers and patches should still be released separately so people can choose what they want to install. That is what DRM-free is all about.

Of course - it wouldn't be mutually exclusive (and as far as I know GOG doesn't plan to change that). I'm more interested in the client automatically downloading and/or applying the patches once they're available - I've missed the odd patch and had to download the full installer again and again because the incremental updates only work with the most current version.

In my opinion there's no need for the galaxy client, but for a better QA by the Outcast devs. They should test more thoroughly and then release an *complete* update after a month or two instead of every week.
And of course the updates should apply to all versions based on the initial v1.1 release.
Patch does not work...
disaster I have already installed the previous patch but this patch is not installed

It would be a tremendous help if there was some kind of "Posted on:" date stamp of some kind to let people know what exactly is new for a game without having to hunt through the forums.
I'm also confused.

On January 30, 2015, I downloaded: setup_outcast_2.2.0.19.exe (with a DigiCert timestamp of Friday, ‎January ‎30, ‎2015 7:18:03 AM) and patch_outcast_2.2.0.19.exe (DigiCert timestamp ‎Friday, ‎January ‎30, ‎2015 5:53:50 AM).

So far so good.

On February 4, 2015, there was an "update": patch_outcast_2.1.4.18.exe (DigiCert timestamp ‎Thursday, ‎January ‎29, ‎2015 5:03:36 AM)

I like time travel as much as the next guy, but not when it comes to software updates. But it gets worse.

Today, February 9, 2015, there's another "update": setup_outcast_2.0.0.13.exe (DigiCert timestamp ‎Wednesday, ‎November ‎27, 2013 6:12:02 AM) and patch_outcast_2.2.1.20.exe (DigiCert timestamp Friday, ‎February ‎06, ‎2015 9:58:12 AM), which are listed on the web page as... drumroll... installer 1.1.3.18756 and patch 1.1.4.18786

It's like listening to a 2-year-old counting: "two, five, seven, thirteen, eight, eleventeen".

So, ok, it's been funny, but now can you send the intern back to licking stamps and get a grown up to sort out these versions?

IronArcturus: But both the installers and patches should still be released separately so people can choose what they want to install. That is what DRM-free is all about.
Not at all. DRM-free is all about not having DRM (disk checks, unique serial numbers, install limits, internet activation etc) restricting what you can do with a product you have legitimately purchased. DRM-free means you are not controlled by or require permission from a third party to use that product where and when you wish.

DRM-free has *nothing* to do with catering to a personal preference that updates come in the form of full installers that overwrite previous installs or patches that tweak an existing install. That's a customer service issue.
