I am running Outcast with the V3 GoG patch for the hi-res fix. So far, I am running the game on 800x600 resolution and it works fine... until I bring up the inventory menu, chat menu, ect. If I do that, then the game runs extremely slow and/or cannot select a chat option. Is there a fix to this? Please help!

I had the same problem. Your system is to fast. Use a tool to charge to the cpu capacity, like "cpugrabber". Troggle it right and you can use the menu normal and the game runs normal.

Just to be sure, you are running the GOG version of Outcast? Because that version should already have the speed issues fixed. if not, then yes, you will definitely need a CPU-slowing program, but the GOG version should have that functionality fixed already.
