Ken2604: Version 1.1.0.18711 is already out on Steam, do anyone know when it is added to GOG?
Will that version fix the no music problem in Outcast 1.1?

Not sure, I don't own it or had problems with music in my GOG version.

Here's link to the change log on the Steam version: http://steamcommunity.com/app/336610/discussions/0/626329820860443987/

Here is a link to the no music problem. Its affecting a lot of people on WinXP. I'm wondering if it's an installer problem. Can you tell me if there is a music folder in Outcast? I can't seem to find it.

I don' t see any music folders in my install, the music is probably stored within one of the .opk files in legacy folder.

Is there any way I can verify whether the proper music files were installed? I'm still wondering why I'm not hearing any music in Outcast 1.1.

Zoidberg: What about the HD version?
They need to find th found first to finish it.

Zoidberg: What about the HD version?
The Kickstarter for HD version failed. So, i doubt it will be ever released.

I meant the one that has been out on Steam too, but it's the "same". I knew about the failed KS though...
Sucks that this patch is not working for a lot of people, really is a shame since it works fine on my end and the game is more than playable over here. Even runs at an acceptable framerate in 1080p. Not 60fps smooth but around the 25-30 margin which is okay enough for my tastes.
Found a couple bugs, do we report them to GOG.com, or to the developers?

DreadMoth: They're going to improve on the intro movie in the future - hopefully that will include a switch in player software
Improved intro and independence from Windows Media Player have been implemented in Version 1.1.0.18712 - hopefully GOG will release that once they're back at work.

Should be better at steam forum, but you will have to registrate:

BatJoe: Maybe never, the developer has made it clear they prefer Steam and Gog is lucky to get anything:

That is so not true amd I don't know why you say this! The devs already have given GOG the newest update and are waiting for GOG to update the game.

Most people with the "no music" problem (includeing myself) fixed it by running the outcast 1.1.exe in compatibility mode for win95 or win98/ME.

I set it for Win98 compatibility and it worked! Thanks for the info! :)

Glad I could help. It's such a simple fix but it took me like forever to find it out when I was experiencing the problem.
