************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

drealmer7: Installed the new version (after an uninstall of the old, of course) and 1.) the startup box (with news, settings, play, quit) doesn't fit on my screen and 2.) the game wont start and has this error:
Yeah, some people seem to be experiencing a crash when trying to use the launcher (which is also the executable GOG's shortcuts lead to). Judging by posts on the Steam forums the devs are apparently already on it, although God knows when we'll get the patch on GOG. According to this thread it seems to be related to an external video player being used to play back the intro.

Anyway, you should be able to play the game if you launch it directly via OC1.1.exe in the game's folder.

And here I thought GOGs QA was supposed to be unmatched! *laugh*

Thanks!
Dev they already send the 1.1.0.18707 version to GOG. Unfortunately it's weekend so there's unlikely to be anyone at their office to release it before monday. There already is a new patch on Steam ([url=http://steamcommunity.com/games/outcast/announcements/detail/147822360575724444]Version 1.1.0.18708) that seem to adress something related to launcher.

Changelog since lanch:

Version 1.1.0.18708

Add verbose messagebox to notify the player if the launcher failed to create the userdata directory or to write config files.

Version 1.1.0.18707

Fixed: The savegame located on the slot3 won't load from the Launcher
Fixed: Some music transitions are incorrects
Improvement: Increasing the priorities of the voxel threads

Version 1.1.0.18706

Fixed: Potential crash when entering in the game
Fixed: Potential crash when triggering XRay mode
Fixed: Potential crash while exiting a cinematic
Fixed: Abnormal delay and potential crash of the gaamsav
Fixed: Mismatch between key M and key L on the default keyboard mapping

Version 1.1.0.18702

Fixed: Missing Spanish subtitles option from the Launcher
Fixed: Hiding Windows Media Player and allowing to skip by pressing any button

Version 1.1.0.18701

Fixed: Hide the News Panel

I am having to launch the game using oc1.1.exe from the game folder also as Windows pops up the message that Outcast 1.1 has stopped working if I try to launch it from the game shortcut.

However I also have the same error when I exit the game. Does anyone else have this problem?

I am using Win 7 64 bit Home Premium.

I have exactly the same problem as you describe. It only starts with oc1.1.exe and if I quit, the "Outcast 1.1. has stopped working"-thing comes up. It's the same thing on my two pcs (different hw-configurations, Vista 64 & Win 7 64), so it's surely not based on a specific hardware or windows-version. What a bugged mess is this game? Thank the yods we still have the old version, that one is stable at least...
I really hope they get the whole bunch of bugs solved sooner or later.
