Outcast 1.1 has been updated to version 1.1.3.18756

This update fixed a major issue related to vsync management . The native fullscreen mode is now working as expected (should be more performance than any windowed modes)

From that version, to achieve the best performance and quality we recommend to select "native" fullscreen mode and enabling the vsync. You should have a noticeable performance gain toward the "windowless fullscreen mode".

the GOG version is now TWO PATCHES BEHIND!!!!
Could somebody from a official position answer here? I know you have a manual patching system and it's not your fault the developers created such a messed up product that needs patching all the time, but it would be great if the updates could come in earlier.
The thing is: at GOG the upgrade to Outcast 1.1 is for free. At STEAM you have to pay 4,99 $. If you willing to pay that- you get faster updates ;)

It's nothing like that: Fresh3D released a new version of the game that is gradually updated to be more and more advanced. It doesn't "need" patching, it functions just as well as the original game but the thing is that if they want to take it to the next level (to function better in HD resolutions, to have better graphical fidelity / quality) they simply need to update the game with modern features and that's exactly what they are doing one step at a time.
Gentlemen, neither one of your answers has a constructive value to the problem.

@Sance231: But there were initially many bugs, that weren't even in the bugged original - deplaced NPCs, crashes, not working launcher etc. - are these new bugs ironed out and is it playable properly - at least as good as the original game? It's either a very ignorant or a very optimistic view to state the game didn't need patching. In my humble opinion It's a very bad habit to release games in such states and shouldn't be excused in any way.

@ giver888: Well, I've bought Outcast when it was released as 1.1, so I had to pay for the update as well as the Steamers out there, didn't I?

It looks like it just got added to GOG
Indeed, thanks GOG!
The devs already told on Steam that they are givin the updates regularly to GOG but since GOG has to update the game manually they don't do it every day so they sometimes skip one or two minor patches. We have to wait a little longer but always are receiving the newest patch. Please keep in mind that those guys at GOG are human, too and until now don't provide the automatic update way Steam already has. I think it is not too hard to wait a few days as long as the game is working.
It's here now. :D
Yes, but if you are running windows XP be careful (at least today):
http://www.gog.com/forum/outcast/important_if_you_run_on_xp_do_not_update_your_game_to_11318756_without_securing_your_game_folder
seriously, if you are still running windows xp you have a whole lot of other problems....

Please - not again! I am so fed up with me defending why I am using XP. Let me do what I want to do and I let you do what you want to do. For your information (and for the last time since I already had to talk about it in the DF forum): there are still many people who are using XP (and for those I wrote this warniung to HELP them ) and I use it because I prefer it (have Win7 on my second HDD but I don't like it). And to say it out loud: I don't have a problem at all, never had and probably never will. It is unsecure - so let it be. It never was secure and MS never really was secure. I never used one of the security updates so I should have plenty of viruses and adware on my PC - no, nothing. I also have been hacked several times - no, nothing. It may happen one time or it may not but since I don't have important data on my system I really don't care at all.

PLEASE: Let this discussion stop here because it will run in circles and I will always keep my opinion!
