Alright, I have played this game yeeeears ago. And now can't launch it through a pirate version..... I just get the loader.exe problem when the game attempts to start, and update 1 won't work, because it keeps asking for disc 1 (I burned disc 1 into a dvd (made an iso disc)), no matter if I add the disc or not, it will still keep asking me for it.... So before you start saying "Burn the pirate/witch !", I wanna say that I am willing to buy this game *again, lost the original that I had yeeeears ago*, But am insecure.... If I have those bugs on a pirate version, won't I have them on the game from GOG ????

For software info :

I've got 3.25 GB RAM.
Windows XP
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core processor 5200+ 2,70 GHZ.
I'm not a good computerist (the hell, i'm pathetic), So Idk how to check what kind of graphics card I have, only I know that it's decent and can run games like Modern Warfare 2 (call of duty) and so on...

The version on GoG doesn't have any DRM

I played the game from GoG and havent experienced any problems whatsoever. That's one of the reasons why I buy from GoG - When I buy a game, it works. I'm more than sure that you will not have any problems either

Bottom line: Welcome to GoG, Buy this game, enjoy and welcome to the community

I have the most incompatible system possible - notebook graphic card with outdated drivers from Acer homepage and windows 7 64bit, and the game works like a charm. I'd just recommend installing this as well.

I actually find my netbook has a lot less issues with old games than my desktop.
I was talked into trying GOG by my son. Browsed their site, found a game I thought I'd like (Chaos on Deponia). I find their method of downloading a game unbelievably cumbersome. It took me two hours to get the game installed and I have been into computers for 35 years.
Started running it. It was okay although choppy. Because I lost so much time I went for supper. When I came back there was a message that because I was inactive in the game it had gone into sleep mode (my words).
When I tried to restart the game it would lock up after the first couple of minutes.
Tried at least a dozen times by now to get the game going again, rebooting the computer almost every time. It gets hung up.
I'm glad it only cost me 7 bucks. It will be the last time I buy anything from GOG. I have had no issue downloading games from Spin Top or Big Fish Games.
Sent any email to GOG and I have to admit I got a quick response with two pages of instructions about re-installing, downloading Direct X this and Direct X that.
I want to play a computer game not spend many hours trying to get a $7 game working.
Needless to say, they refuse to refund my money. Let's just say that I will not fatten their coffee fund in future.

You've been using computers for 35 years and still never got used to having to troubleshoot and maintain your settings, OS and drivers? Also, why dig up a three year old thread about another game to complain about your Deponia purchase? Also, why of all the supposedly (to a veteran computer user) nostalgic games on GoG did you start out with a fairly recent flash game?

I've been using computers for 25 years and your post is really starting to confuse me.
