You have to activate an in-game item called the Gaamsav. Hit F2 to equip it and hit your primary action key (left-click by default).

Yes, you must remember to be careful in that area you saving (to extract the crystal ' Gaamsav '), because if you do it just when you are going to be attacked by a group of soldier or another threat, the game will not work you. For the 'Gaamsav' you need few time and this must to be calm.
Another thing as curious as the 'Gaamsav' is that if you start speaking with some 'talan' (good native), and there is a group of soldiers near, the dialogue will jump because the good 'talan'' sit down, to prevent the soldiers' shots from reaching him and you will have to flee of this area and later ask again about when you are out of danger.
