This. I advise being extremely careful about reboots of any sort. We're talking about a cult, very innovative game that has something really special going on. A reboot could be a bad thing.

I'm still glad to see it getting some love, though, and it's great that creators and devs want to revisit it. I'd prefer a sequel, myself, but let's wait and see how this turns out.

From what I've read, I expect they'll radically update the graphics but probably won't change anything about the story or even record new sound. Maybe they'll add some content already produced but cut from the original game if there even is stuff like that. So "reboot" maybe is the wrong term.

I'm both excited and anxious about this development. There is a lot that can go wrong, but I really hope for the best. If the project looks promising to me I will throw a lot of money at it, Outcast is still my favorite game.

Apparently they want to redo all the assets etc. and even add more content. I'm not against radically modernizing the graphics and fixing some gameplay issues but I really hope they don't throw away the awesome voice recording (multi language!) and music without being able to replace them with similar quality.

Hi,

the detailed content will be revealed with the campaign. It is a complete remake of the original game. new assets and possibly new content.

I prefer sequels instead of remakes, but I might consider buying the remake if it's not too expensive (I already have the original, so I'm not willing to pay full price for graphic update).

If they use a voxel engine again I'm going to implode. If not then I'll be very happy. :)
