I think we can assume GOG didn't release the soundtrack as bonus content (all the music is still in the game) because trying to get the rights to release David Bowie's songs would have been very difficult. (Admittedly, a "partial" soundtrack at least would have been nice.)

So this thread is to compile links to places where people can listen to and get the games music.

EDIT: Look through this thread for information on finding the .adp music files and converting them.

General YouTube Search

Note: Please be careful where you link.

The links as these are of a grey and possibly illegal area. dont want anyone in trouble, keep the youtube whiteout the album download links... if people really want the music there are ways to get it legally.

The tracks are: "Thursday's Child", "Something in the Air", "Survive", "Seven", "We All Go Through", The Pretty Things Are Going To Hell", "Omikron (New Angels of Promise)" and "The Dreamers"

check out Bowies Album Hours... for a sampling and some good music in that vain ^_^

Yes, thanks. I was trying to focus on linking to the other music in the game, because there seem to be quite a few tunes that are not Bowie pieces.
Does "no soundtrack" mean the in-game bowie songs are also missing?

No, I'm pretty sure the Bowie songs would be included; GOG just couldn't release them outside the game.

No, they are part of the game.
Thanks for all the replies
It has nothing to do with Omikron, but I'll recommend David Bowie's album "Outside", as it has a very cyberpunk-themed mood and feel to it. I used to listen to it nonstop back in the day.

Me, too :) one my fav albums of him.
The audio files are in the TRACKS folder with the .adp extension, but I don't know if they can be converted to a more common format. Perhaps it was a deliberate attempt to make the songs exclusively available from within the game.

It's not like "Hours..." is not readily available elsewhere and we are hopelessly dependent on GOG for a soundtrack bonus, but think about it, some of the sound files could be perfect phone ringtones or notification sounds, especially now that we are all so hyped up about Omikron again.

My buddy bought the game, based on the intro video on GOG's site. He's a big Bowie fan. Imagine his surprise when the "intro" part of the game played... but the Bowie song did not. It was like it was cut out of the game. I don't know if this was intentional, or not, but he never could get the intro to play the music like it does in the video on GOG. Now he's claiming false advertising. If they took the music out of the game, shouldn't they have said something about it on the website. You know, "Sorry, but due to licensing issues we had to rip the music out of the game..." or something like that? I told him maybe it was just a problem on his end. All the other sounds effects and music seem to be working. Just the parts where Bowie is singing are not.

I don't believe any of the soundtrack has been altered from the original game. If you want to check, the tracks folder should contain 145 items totalling 96,807,541 bytes in size. This thread is about the lack of a separate soundtrack download, rather than any in game changes.

The one exception is a bit of music that used to play during the original installer, which I'm not sure appears in the game anywhere or in GOG's new installer. I just checked it though, and it's just a 30 second long snippit with no voices.

Does the GOG forum have spoiler tags? I couldn't find it.

Anyway, this is my long term memory speaking, but I believe that track is indeed heard when you are getting the beshem in you-know-where.
