I just tried installing the large vram fix patch for Omikron and I get this

"Omikron - The Nomad Soul patch log
Update from version 2.0.0.7 to 2.0.1.8

Incorrect version of: C:\GOG Games\Omikron - The Nomad Soul\patch.dll"

Nearly everybody gets that message. Here's the official reply (scroll down to the last post):

The most likely explanation is just that your game already includes the patch, if you downloaded the installer any time recently. The standalone patch is for people who already have the old version of the installer and don't fancy downloading the whole thing all over again.

Would help if it gave a more user friendly error message though. 'you don't need this patch because your game is already patched' or something would be far clearer.
You're absolutely right. I just got this email from the support:

"The installer was updated and the game doesn't require the patch.
Sorry for the inconvenience."

The real inconvenience is that they didn't update the version number of the installer file. I just redownloaded and compared the file to the version 2.0.0.7 that I downloaded in March and the files are different, they have different sizes.

Why in the world would they not change the version number?

I take it you are not familiar with The "What did just update?" thread? Why in the world do they put out silent updates?

I knew about that but forgot:-)
And, I thought that was for updates that just haven't been announced. Here's one that didn't even get a version change so that people could figure out that they didn't need the patch.
I guess they want to make sure customer service has something to do by answering all these unnecessary questions.
