Howdy, fellow GOGers!

I've picked up the freebie, hoped that it can be turned into gift code, received middle finger from GOG staff, and now I'm stuck with it on my shelf (hidden). Maybe it sounds silly, but I hate having something in my collection that I don't want to play like ever.
So, I'm asking you the question in the title. I've heard that it's a hell of buggy game and that gameplay is very shallow.
Is there anyone who enjoyed the game, or at least some of its parts, who can convince me to maybe try this one out in the future.
I enjoyed playing Mafia (1) and Gangsters (1&2) games if it's any help for some comparisons.

So current GOG version is patched to this 1.06 version that is no good?
Are there any indications when will the new patch be ready?

Those few indications from Kalypso mean nothing. You even can imagine a finger is hidden in the back while politely answering.

This question is not at all solved, though there are a few threads open about it. GOGer PaterAlf is providing correct information, however Kalypso has not responded to questions on their official forum and that GOG didn't receive a patch that, arguably, takes as much effort as the most minor of e-mails is an important counter-point.

It's not acceptable for them to simply not provide GOG with the patch and it's not acceptable for people to have to wait, paying customer or 'good faith freebie' customer. It's not acceptable for there to be no disclaimer on the game's store page and, all things considered, to offer neither the option of a refund for paying customers nor previous versions/patches where the game wasn't broken.

I'm a staunch and critical supporter of CDPR and GOG. I don't think they're trying to hide anything or something malicious, I think they made a mistake here and one by giving Kalypso the benefit of the doubt. It's a mistake to give a company that does something like that the benefit of the doubt, there's just no other way to put it, and something aside from waiting needs to be done.

For my part I've asked for this game to be removed from my library and am awaiting a response. All I wanted to do that day was go to the store page to check it out and in clicking the big box, not the small 'free' box, the game was activated for my account. Like you I don't want it...not now.

But it is answered. There is hope, we just don't know how long will take until the solution arrives and extinguish the need for any hoping. :)

Yup. I think giving the game away for free on GOG is Kalypso's way to say "Sorry, we fucked up big time". And this would only make sense if there's a patch coming.

The turn the gaming industry took from about 2003-04 onward has made me very, very cynical. I can only hope that your inference is true; though, even if that's not the case, I still have confidence in GOG. Like I've said before, I think (if you're wrong) that GOG simply made a mistake out of good-faith and not out of a complete lack of care like, say, Valve. GOG and CDPR gave me hope that there are companies in the industry that still get it, that it's about great games and not doing everything possible to rake in money hand over fist. If GOG is being silent for the good reasons you mentioned...well, it'd be better if they weren't silent. If GOG isn't being silent for those reasons, just not wanting to get our hopes up because of the potential crash...well, it'd be better if they at least went with the things I suggested: the option to get a refund for paying customers who don't want to wait, all things considered, and/or the ability to roll back to an earlier version by offering it.

I have confidence and faith in GOG and CDPR because of my experience with them. I'm sure they'll do what they can to make this right, whatever that happens to be.
