KeoniBoy: Only thing we use Ste*m for is product reviews, of which there are many, some quite comprehensive, and therefore useful in making a purchase decision. Employing due diligence before "pulling the trigger" minimizes buyers remorse. Good things do come to those who patiently bide their time. ((;--))
candesco: Product reviews can also be done here on GOG. And reviews on steam are often biased and some are even not a review. I don't take those reviews over there as an example for making a deciscion if i should buy a game or not. I rather use in-game footage for inspirration. I use both Steam and GoG. Some games i have on steam aren't here on gog and it doesn't look like that will change any time soon.
The simple fact of the matter is that for "some" progs here, there are distressingly few reviews posted, making it dicey to get a good read on the product. As for St*am, there are, in some cases, many reviews on a product, some quite comprehensive and knowledgeable. Like any good farmer, ya gotta separate the "wheat" from the "chaff." The product forum discussions here can be quite helpful as well. We just wait for things to come to us, sometimes weeks, months, or years. When the discount gets large enough for a good product, we begin to get interested.
