Hi,

I have a problem trying to start a multiplayer game with a friend.
We select LAN mode, but in the Lobby screen (where it says "choose a slot to join"), neither of us can select a slot, they're all greyed out.
If I set all slots except one to AI, I can click the one available slot and start the game immediately.
But as soon as there are 2 or more slots available, I cannot click on any of them.

What am I doing wrong here?

That sounds really strange, I can't think of any reason why the Host at least wouldn't be able to join.

How many Players and Teams do you have set? Is it 2 Humans and the rest AIs all on their own team?

Any mods active? Worth trying with them disabled them if so.

Something that may be worth trying is deleting the GameOptionsSave.xml file from C:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\OldWorld. That will reset all options to default, may help in case some strange setting is causing problems.

Also worth checking the log file to see if there are any helpful error messages - it's output.txt in the Logs subfolder.

Another thing to check is that both players are running the game through GoG Galaxy, which is required for MP

Aren't GoG games supposed to be able to be run without GoG Galaxy? We used to be able to play MP on this game without GoG Galaxy... So much for DRM free.

It's not intended as DRM, it's just the game relies on the platform ID for multiplayer and it can be a bit buggy if it doesn't have one, so it was enforced to prevent issues.

Ok, but in the end it's still DRM. Maybe you should include an option in the settings menu to enable it, with a note that it can be buggy.
