I've already got the PSX version of Abe's Oddysee, any differences or added value that might make me wanna get the GOG version?
None, ive played through both.
Only thing the pc version does better is the load times... but thats so very minor with a game like this.

What about controls? I think it is much easier to use the numbers to communicate rather than a combination of buttons.
Also you get loads of awesome stuff if you get the GOG version, if that kinda thing matters to you :D.

I use logitech dual anolog pad, virtually identical to the PS one sooo..... ummmm... yeah, no difference there :P
However, speaking would definately be easier on keyboard... now i feel stupid for not thinking of that! >_>

GameSpeak is definitely made easier with a keyboard, than by having to use button combinations (this is especially true in Exoddus, since you do have to use way more GameSpeak commands than what you had to in Oddysee), but that would be it, when it comes to relative superiority of whether version over the other. Both PS and PC versions are essentially the same.

The GOG version of the games, however, being the "collector's definite edition" GOG has gotten us used to, does add a lot of extras that you simply can't get with your PlayStation copy of the games, so, if that accounts for anything to you, go with the versions being sold here.
I believe for the amount asked on the site, compared to the amount asked of, for the PSX version, the PC version is the way to go. However when owning the PSX version, I look at it like "I can record, screen cap it, and enjoy it with quicker load times and do not have to leave my PC to play a game."

But that is how I see it. As I do not own the PSX version, I would be more... Aprehensive? Of buying it on the PS1 because of what people are asking for it and the age of the game itself. So I would be more inclined to buy it on the PC.

If that made any sense. :)
Because I'm a major geek I can answer this this yay.

There some subtle changes that may or may not make a difference. The biggest difference is that the PC version lets you know when you've hit a check point. A little diamond thing will appear above your head to let you know that you've hit a check point.

Other differences include:

PC version has slightly more detail in the art and graphics, the load times are faster, and you can save as much as you want.

The only down side is that there are a few PC related bugs here and there, including a moment where you die and you hear a consent ringing sound. Simply pausing and unpausing the game fixes this though.

Another issue is the stereo sound is messed up. Left speaker will produce sound meant for the right speaker and vise versa
