For those players who (like me, up until five minutes ago) have issues with the graphics in Abe's Oddysee not displaying, this forum topic should be the solution to your problems.

My system specifications:
Alienware m11xR2
Intel Core i7 U640
8GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GT 335M

The problem I was having: When I started Abe's Oddysee, the copyright information would display, but after that I would hear the sound/music, but the graphics would not update. I tried all the basic configurations possible under the NVIDIA control panel, but nothing fixed the issue. After putting the DDHACK files into the Abe's Oddysee directory, the game runs perfectly.

Hi, may I ask you where'd you get DDHACK from? The link from the thread on steam forums is unfortunately dead. Can you upload it somewhere?

Below is a repost of the instructions as found in the steam forum thread I referenced:

Instructions
Download my version of ddhack (Original source code created by Jari Komppa)
Paste the files in the directories of Abe's Oddyssey and Abe's Exoddus
e.g: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\oddworld abes oddysee
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\oddworld abes exoddus
That's it!
The patch will resize the game to whatever resolution you are running on now. You can alt+tab and it won't destroy your system!

NOTE:
This is ONLY meant for the Abe's Oddyssey and Abe's Exoddus games. Use it with other games at your own risk!

The games throw a crash error in Vista (tested on 64-bit) after you close them. This only happens AFTER you quit or alt+f4 the game.

Just put the files in the same directory as Abe's Odyssey, then the run the game as normal.

You don't know how this works?

1) Download this
http://www.mediafire.com/download/lrqciam6ip6c6b2/ddhack_abe.zip

2) Uncompress the files in your directory where the game is installed.
3) Start game.

(But you can read all this above so I don't know what is unclear to you)

So I put DDHack into my fiies and it worked for a while, but now it stopped working again. What did I miss?

Gog should start adding DDhack to Abe1/2 by default, cause it may scare people off, or even PISS them off when the game is not running on their system...

Used the DD hack but am still having an issue....

I have attempted to force the game to Launch In Windowed mode with no success.

Already attempted removing DD Hack and all variables of Compatibility modes to no success.

Attempted all different resolutions to see if game would 'work' with a different native resolution.


HALP I DUN UNDERSTAND

Windows 8.1 the issue, maybe?
AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor GHz
(RAM) 8.00 GB
64-bit Operating System, x64-based Processor

How do i get rid of the DDHack after ive already istalled it?
I did a clean uninstall and reinstall of the game and its still widescreen.
I want to get rid of it
