I've bought both Abe games from GOG a while a go and was playing them in order, i've finally finished Odissey and moved to Exoddus. Now, the problem is, i cant really play it.
I run the game, can see the initial videos just fine, but once it reaches the menu i cant see anything. I can hear him say "hello", i can move through the menu with the cursor keys (i know this because i can hear the sound from the menu) .
I've actually started a game without being able to see the menu and the first cutscene shows ups fine, but once it ends it's the same problem again, I can play, but i cant see anything.
My graphics card is an ATI radeon HD3470 mobility, i've tried updating drivers and reinstalling the game, no improvement.
Anyone can lend a hand?

I actually meant the abes Exoddus config file if it has one, not sure as I don't own the game. It will be found in the Abes Exoddus folder if it excists though. From looking at your dxdiag though there are a couple tricks you can try if you haven't done so already.
Run the game with a single core. You can do this by bringing up task manager while the games running and changing core affinity to core 0 in the process's tab.
I would also try running it under different windows compatibility settings to see if that allows it to run. Also run it under administrator mode while you try this.

Tried running the game as an administrator, forcing the resolution to 640x480 and the compatibility modes, always the same problem. Funily enough i cant put the game running on one core only, i get a dialog box telling me "The operation could not be completed. Access is denied.", yet i can do so to every other process running.
Does the game have any settings options you can access via the start menu? Maybe able to change how the game is rendered.
You could also check your ATI control panel and make sure everything is set to application controlled. Try setting Abes Exoddus so that you force Anti aliasing off as another thing you could try.
Also if you haven't done so already you should open a support ticket with gog support about your problem.

No, the game doesnt have any seperate options and i've filed a support ticket around the same time i first posted.
I cant seem to be able to use the ATI control panel though, maybe it's related.
I'm gonna try and reinstall the drivers again and check it out.

Hey, would ya know. After a few reinstalls and reboots the game is working now.
I'm gonna mark your post as a solution cause it brought the catalyst control center problem to my attention, thanks.
Im having the same problem. shame, i love this game. the solution here didnt work for me :(
I'm having the exact problem too. Is there any quick fix to this?? all the previous posts don't make much sense to me
I was playing on my laptop (which has an integrated Intel HD graphics card), and I managed to solve it by simply setting my graphics settings to 'High Performance' instead of Balanced. Pretty ridiculous that this is the default for 'plugged in' mode, but there you go.
where did you set those settings? in your card or in your game? I'm having the same problems

I'm sorry - I tried to find those settings but I can't (haven't been using Windows for a long time now). I was sure it's under Power Settings, but it doesn't seem to be there.
