Socratatus: Install the non- GOG Galaxy version then save separately each Patch so you can easily revert if there`s a version you don`t like. People used to do this all the time before the likes of Steam came along and prevented that.
DazBoots: Okay I think I will buy it on GoG (Its half price atm.) At least I can stick with what I have until I know any other updates are good or not. Atm, Beyond is deep down sucky.
Thats pretty much what I do. Just download the "Offline Backup Game Installers" (I only ever install GOG Galaxy if I want to test any beta 3xperimental version) ..

Watch out here
https://steamdb.info/app/275850/depots/ for when a Public version is published. Then within a day the Offline Backup Game Installer files on GOG will be updated too.
For me right now though, with a Core I7 and a mobile Geforce 1050 ti - The newest Beyond update is the sweetest ever for performance.

And Sean recently tweeted that the focus in the first week was to get the major crash issues out of the way, now that the majority of those are squished, more will be done, but concentrating on game bugs and performance is going to be more of a focus (as is evident from the 2.09 update above)
