Clonazepam: Is it a national holiday over there or something? lol, I can't understand the total complete silence from HG, GOG, etc.
If you mean in the UK, no it's not a public holiday. It is however the first week of the school holidays so a lot of families will be away, and it's also sweltering hot over here, but none of this excuses the news blackout.

I have however noticed before that GOG updates to NMS arrive a day or so after Steam, but quite why that should be the case is beyond me, as this will certainly lose them sales in the long run imho.

The fact there's no patch doesn't bother me at all, its the dead silence from all parties that irks me. Thanks for the pleasant response about holidays and weather. ;)
Let's wait and see what GOG have to say, if anything, regardless of how frustrating this current situation is. Other smaller developers (Warhorse with Kingdom Come) doesn't seem to have a problem with pushing updates to the GOG platform at the same time as Steam, so perhaps this lies more with Hello Games than it does with GOG.

Atlas Rises came on the same day (though missing multiplayer).

GOG has had plenty of time to say something. At this point I expect nothing. Maybe we'll never get the patch, but we're certainly not hearing from GOG any time soon.

It's been confirmed that Hello Games has access to and uses the Dev Portal for direct uploads to the Galaxy Platform. So this is not on GOG its on Hello Games.

If its still Thursday and we have no answer or information its time to start worrying.

I don't follow the updates, but it's possible they're using the Steam systems to find and address any last-second game-breaks. They can arbitrarily updates most steam users thanks to the forced DRM. Those of us who don't use Galaxy... Not so much.

I'm probably being over-optimistic...

Regardless of who the blame lands on it's up to GOG to address the community. They should've communicated ANY potential issues weeks ago to prevent additional sales fueled souly by the NEXT update. if I would've purchased this recently in anticipation for NEXT I would be even more livid.

THat's assuming there was a prior known problem. Based on Maka86 claimed, It's possible all GoG knows at this point is "they haven't given it to us yet." Making that statement would just leave the community to accuse them of hiding something or playing the blame game.
This is such a joke, already up on sites for people to pirate. Fantastic pirates get the game before people that paid for it.

Absolutely they have. It would be nice as a customer to be provided with some means of an update. I would expect the delay to be more with Hello Games than GOG and they will very much not want to sour relationships with developers/publishers by efficitvely saying "sorry, not us" as their platform is an alternative means for the many current ones.

It's not that simple imo. If gog pre-empts developers who use their platform then other developers will be less keen to use it. It's not professional. Even though they stand to take flak for it, it's not up to them.

If NEXT isn't coming to gog, HG should have said so when they announced the update. They still link to gog on their buy page and so it's possible some people bought the game on gog after the announcement assuming it would be released there.

If HG are just trying to bury bad news until after the launch then they made their gog customers wait for nothing and that stinks, but it's up to HG to tell people what's going on with their own game, not gog imo.

Hopefully NEXT is just late, but I'm not optimistic at this point.

True, however transparency is key for any and all companies. Leaving us in the dark is much worse then telling us what we don't want to hear.

If Hello Games do have access to the Dev Portal as you say, then it is 100% on them.
The only blame GoG would have is trusting that HG would be able to do their job right (which they clearly did not here).

I stand corrected. In my defence, I'd likely stopped playing it then. Compared to ED (5 week game time) I only have 15 hours in NMS, so I'm actually looking forward to starting all over again.

I really like the visual style, but it didn't 'grab me' first time around, it all felt a bit confused and confusing, and even base building and the vehicles left me a bit cold tbh. My biggest gripe is the 'flight model', I just can't get on with it. It feels like a ride, nothing visceral, nothing to master. I appreciate that the game is designed to be a chill-out game, but a bit more 'feel' to the various ships would help (me) a lot. ymmv of course!
